Young local organist to perform at Macedon.
Friends of Music at Resurrection are delighted to feature Dan Rigby, a talented local freelance musician, in a concert at the Church of the Resurrection on Sunday 23 August at 3pm.
Dan is the organ scholar of the Anglican Parish of Gisborne, receiving tuition from Dianne Gome.
He is also a very competent pianist, accompanying the Sunset Six vocal jazz group and musical productions of the Kyneton Theatre Company, among other ventures.
But ..
his principal instrument is the flute, which he plays regularly with the Bendigo Symphony Orchestra.
This concert also features recorder player Faye Zollia of Kyneton.
Together, Faye and Dan will play the wonderful Sonata in G minor BWV 1020 by Bach.
The expansive program also includes organ solos by Bach, Franck and Salomé, piano solos by Bach and Chopin, and modern works for recorder and organ.
Dan will perform on the beautiful pipe organ bought by the Anglican Parish of Gisborne from the Diocese of Bendigo in 2014, and installed at Macedon in 2015 after extensive restoration.
