Congratulations to director Sonja Prater and the cast and crew of Mr Bailey's Minder on a fabulous production. Our stage hasn't often looked so messy but brilliant at the same time! But it's all cleared once again and ready for the Naturally Cool Big Band, who have two performances at the Mountview Theatre on Saturday, June 13th, 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30pm), and Sunday, June 14th, 2:00pm (doors open at 1:30pm).

In the vein of Jesus Christ Superstar and The Who's Tommy, The Mount Players is proud to present the brand new, original rock opera, After-Light, as our third show of the year.

Conceived by an up-and-coming local composer, Zac Vanstone, with musical direction from Castlemaine's Tom Foster, this is sure to be a production to excite, provoke and entertain.

After-Light: The Prog-Rock Opera - SEEKING SINGERS & DANCERS for an original production to be performed in August 2026. Auditions: Saturday the 16th, and Thursday the 21st of May
Rehearsals: The Mount Players Theatre in Macedon
Show Dates: August 14 - 30 (9 performances)
Synopsis: A manic coma patient performs an opera in his mind in order to process the sins they have committed. 18+ and unpaid; however, after this production, the director will turn it into a feature-length film (which will be paid).

Introducing Ruben Cameron as Gavin and Karl. Ruben has loved acting since first stepping on stage as a teenager in high school productions of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'The Crucible'. While he has no formal training, he has learned through his roles with the Mount Players, guided by directors Vicki Smith, Travis Handcock and Sonja Prater, and by watching his fellow cast members. This is Ruben's third production with the Mount Players, following roles in 'The Importance of Being Earnest' and 'A Skull in Connemara 'in 2025. Both were comedic, and in Mr Bailey's Minder, he relishes the chance to play two characters- bringing humour to Gavin and more "earnest" dramatic depth to Karl. Ruben hopes to continue pursuing his passion by performing in as many productions as he can!
