🏆 Our Very First Winner – 2008! 🏆

Over the past few weeks, we’ve taken a wonderful trip down memory lane, celebrating every winner of the National Farm Art Sculpture Award as we counted down to the 20th Anniversary of Spirit of the Land.

Now we’ve reached where it all began…

Congratulations to Stuart Spragg for his winning sculpture, “Get Around the Back”, which took out the inaugural National Farm Art Sculpture Award at the very first Spirit of the Land Festival.

The support of local clubs, businesses and organisations plays such an important part in helping us bring our festival to life each year, and we truly appreciate your generosity.
Founded in 1983, the Riverina Sports Car Club (RSCA) brings together enthusiasts who share a passion for sports and performance vehicles. Based in Albury-Wodonga, our members come from across Southern New South Wales and North East Victoria, with more than 200 members and their families forming part of our club community.

What began as a gathering of local sports car enthusiasts has grown into one of the region’s most active motoring clubs. Today, RSCA hosts a diverse calendar of events including breakfast and picnic runs, touring adventures, motorsport outings, car displays, weekends away and extended touring holidays throughout Australia and overseas.

Our club is built on participation, friendship and a shared love of motoring. Members are encouraged to organise and lead events, helping create memorable experiences for fellow enthusiasts while fostering a welcoming and inclusive community for all.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing a look back at the incredible winners of the National Farm Art Sculpture Award. We’ll start with last year’s winner and work our way right back through the years to our very first winner in 2008.

It’s a chance to celebrate the artists, the stories, and the amazing sculptures that have helped make Spirit of the Land one of Australia’s most unique rural art festivals.
