Our Lithgow Young women awards 2023 winner, Fiona Archer, has been awarded the Hawkesbury Show Rual Ambassador award! 🏆🥳🏆

A huge congratulations to Fiona and congratulations to the Young Women Awards winner for 2024 Jill Burgees!
And well done to all the entrants in both sections.
I’m sure the judges has a tough decision with so many great young people who entered this year.
This is great to see so many young people getting involved in this competition!

This young lady did us very proud yesterday at the zone finals! Congratulations on getting this far, you did great!

Our latest skateboard deck for Get on Board with PCYC is a magnificent piece by artist, Jenna M.
Jenna has lived in the Blue Mountains for over 14 years and during that time has assisted with various natural disasters in her capacity as an SES volunteer and as the Community Resilience and Recover Officer for the Blue Mountains and Lithgow regions.
This piece has been created using resin and captures a moment from the black summer bushfires.
Jenna is an active supporter of Lithgow PCYC, and has generously provided time, knowledge and more to the club.

Get On Board with PCYC

Introducing Hope by Helen Flint. Helen is a North Katoomba-based photographer specialising in portraiture, lifestyle, the natural world and all-round visual storytelling. She’s happiest when using her camera to capture the amazing community around her, including both the flora and fauna of the Blue Mountains. Her photographic piece is titled ‘Hope’. It features the beautiful pink flannel flowers (Actinotus forsythii) that sprang from the devastating 2019-20 bushfires.

This wonderful offering by emerging local artist, Jayde Lutschini, is inspired by the mythical figures, The Sun and The Moon deities. She has created a perspective of the deities as the literal embodiment of what they represent and to display how different cultures effect the visual representation of mythical figures.

The land’s Agriculture Young Woman Awards judging and presentation day was held at Fern Hill Australian Arms, 20th November 2022, which was the perfect backdrop for the event. The judging took place in beautiful mid-nineteen century rooms and the guests enjoyed a light lunch which was served in the lovely roundel garden.

We are proud to announce and congratulate our winner of the Lithgow Young Women Awards, Fiona Archer.
Fiona was a stand out contestant to the judges with her knowledge and background on agriculture. Fiona displayed confidence and grace, noticed by many.

We would like to extend our congratulations to our runner up Emily Chritchon.

Our younger age group saw Hayley Pilarcik take first place and Briana Gee as our runner up.

Miss Congeniality went to shayla Gee and Faith McManus

We would like to thank all the local businesses that helped make this day possible. Your support was much appreciated.

Thank you to all the girls that entered, truly you are all amazing young ladies!

In 1962 twenty young female ambassadors entered the first Miss Showgirl competition, as it was originally known, with hopes of representing their region and working as ambassadors for women throughout rural New South Wales.
The young women entering today have great insight and knowledge of the issues faced in rural NSW, they are involved with their communities and are confident ambassadors.
The young women who competed in our Lithgow competition reflected these very attributes
