Slept on and off most the day hearing the crashing waves. First day off in ages. Got spoilt silly by my yowie and my parents shouted me lunch and camping chairs from a distance. Lots of calls and messages which I will reply to tomorrow. Feeling content and loved. I Love that this banksia artwork gone kaleidoscopic looks a bit alien. Is definitely informing my next piece. What a whirlwind weekend of art and connection at Uki for Lava Arts Festival and Lisa young. Big thanks to Lisa Young for her huge efforts in organising and promoting the show. She is a gentle force, a real angel. We had so many people thru the door it was so great to see the arts are alive! So many funny conversations and interesting people. So proud of myself getting my art into the world and connecting with people in real life. Thanks to my other angels Sean Taylor and Tamara Gear for all your help. Chuffed I sold an original to Julius who has named his home “The Art Gallery”. And sold a bunch of prints to people who connect with my work which always feels amazing. So grateful for the support. Now for a bit of rest and a day off for chilled bday tomorrow. Hope to be part of something around Lismore soon for those who couldn’t travel.

‘The Body Lands- Hope’
Northern rivers, Bundjalung country I offer you this artwork and my appreciation for providing me with an open hearted place to transform many times over through all the highs and the lows, the healthy and the toxic, the glorious and the catastrophic over the past 15 years. Like any relationship you are only half of the picture and a mirror to myself. Your roots got in and pushed down my walls, your bosom fed me, your skies and mountains awed me and your sand tickled my feet. I have tried hard to be understood and accepted here amongst people. But all I have ever needed was to place my feet on the grass or in the water and you always calmed me down and reminded me that I am spirit. You taught me that I don’t need to try to be loved because I am love itself. You have always given me hope. Come join me this weekend on Sat from 3pm til Sunday 3pm at uki town hall where I will be exhibiting this and other new works for the Lisa young show as part of the Lava Arts Festival arts trail. Soul-Fish will be entertaining us from 7pm Sat. Drinks and nibbles too.
