One of our favourite times of the year is when we meet our YES Program students.
For the past 2 weeks we have welcomed students from Bryon and Nimbin High Schools to our Byron Bay campus to delve into the creative process of weaving and constructing fabrics.
We had such a great time exploring the creation of hand made craftsmanship using deadstock and upcycled resources RTO:90003

The excitement is building in the studio this week with our Lismore Lantern Parade wearable art entries from our CUS40420 Certificate IV in Costume students as well as our MST31022 Certificate III of Fashion students learning new skills.

Today our Fashion and Costume students were blessed with the opportunity to meet and connect with the one and only Jyllie Jackson.

Jyllie is well known as the driving force and creative magician behind the Lismore Lantern Parade, but this year in addition to the parade they are adding a Wearable Art competition and our fashion and costume students are getting involved.

Over the next few months, watch our students create these artworks before seeing them in real life at the gala parade.

We thank Jyllie for sharing her time and creative spirit with us today. Our students are excited to be apart of this incredible event.

Recently one of our past students of the Cert IV Screen & Media Jasper Sharpe took out second place in Tropfest with a film he wrote and directed called 'We don't take breaks'.

Great work Jasper. Good to see you're still making great films and using the skills you developed in our Cert IV at TAFE NSW - Lismore.
