The heartbreaking state of the Grande Old Dame 💔

Thousands apon thousands of dancers, have tread the boards at 111 Magellan Street for the best part of the last century.

So many memories made in these walls.

I think everyone in our town would know someone who knows someone who has danced here under myself, Wendy Kennedy or Norma (Wendy’s teacher).

In recent times dancers from the Belly Dancing, Line Dancing, Flamenco, Cuban, Irish, Zumba & Physical Culture communities have also called this place home. And of course the Theatre Theatre Productions community who has been a part of the “local fabric” downstairs for a couple of decades.

Ash, charcoal and crumbled remnants of brick may be all that is physically left, but the friends we have made and the memories we will treasure are lifelong. Nothing & noone can take that away. ❤️

One day.
