Welcome to our 2026 Christmas project!
“Twelve Christmas Wishes”

🎄This is a set of 15 cards, in A5 size, which contains pattern instructions for 12 slow stitched decorations and a pouch to keep them in.

🎄The Christmas Wishes Collection is a series of small projects which can be used as decorations, hung on a tree, or kept inside the pouch - It’s called “Christmas Wishes” because we like to write a wish on a piece of paper, put in into a tiny envelope and pin it to a decoration.
Maybe your family and loved ones could all write a wish - make it a yearly tradition!

🎄Names and special dates can be added to the projects if you desire, or special charms and Christmas mementos stitched somewhere on the piece. Try using a vintage piece of fabric which means something to you and building your collection of wishes over time.

🎄 The pattern cards also come with A5 template sheets and embroidery patterns and a large 80cm template for the storage pouch.

🎄You might have a stash of Christmas fabric just waiting for a project like this... if not we have some materials sets to use as a companion to the cards. We like to offer a “Deconstructed Kit” so that you’re only buying the ingredients that you don’t already have.

Hi everyone! Just popping in to say a short and sweet hello on this Wednesday evening….
Here’s a few little treats that have landed in our NOTIONS and THREADS department over the last few days, with more to come as soon as yours truly has the time to unpack the rest….
📦📦📦

It’s a busy, exciting week in the world of our extended FORAGE family. Lara’s eldest is getting married on Saturday so we’re in the midst of “wedding week” festivities.
💅🏻🍾🎉

I’m doing the flowers for the venue and the bridal party - it’s fun to go back to (momentarily!!) to my previous life and swap the fabric scissors for floral ones. Happy to report it’s like riding a bike, so far, so good with remembering what to do! 😉

We are opening our studio for an in-person Flea Market for the first time!

If you're someone who likes to 'see and touch' before you buy - this will be a fun day of foraging for you...

There will be a wide range of items sourced by us in the European flea markets, brocantes and dealers. Items will include antique and vintage fabrics, hand made laces, vintage sewing notions, quilts etc.

There are items from our recent trips as well as things we've been hanging on to and weren't quite ready to let go of, so come for a forage, a catchup and a chat!

Please send us a note if you want to ask about whether we have anything in particular.

This event will be in our studio at 39/7 Narabang Way, Belrose, 2085.

10am - 3pm - Come any time during these hours

Parking and disabled parking are available. Please park in the places closest to the building.

The week that was…. 🌞😊🌻
(August - already?!?!?!?)

1.- we released our “12 CHRISTMAS WISHES” decorations/pattern set out into the world this week.
It is the project that our retreat participants worked on a couple of months ago….
This is a pic of one of the decorations, beautifully completed by Leanne, who joined us in Katoomba.
It is such a special feeling to see our designs go out into the world! Thank you for all the love you’ve shown this newly released idea!

2.- my evening stitching companion, who likes to snuggle in, as close as possible! Look at that little shiny nose - ADORABLE!
🐕‍🦺❤️🐕‍🦺

3.- behind the scenes, and we’re in fully fledged prep mode for the NSW quilt guild show at Rosehill in September…
Cut, wrap, repeat!
✂️✂️✂️

4.- Lovely Lara bought me some sweet peas last week and they’re still going strong - the fragrance is intoxicating!

5.- we had a couple of nights at the weekend in a beautiful hotel to celebrate my Linda’s birthday. Such a treat!!
🎉🎉🎉

6/7/8- back to reality. Time for a rejig/organise of the teeny, tiny shop space in our studio…
🧺🧹🧽

9.- we have had LOTS of new arrivals this week - these variegated perle 8 threads are such a DELICIOUS pop of colour!
🧵🌈🧵

10.- Friday arvo and it’s time for a play at the beach (our happy place!) with my favourite puppy.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s class - I’m just waiting for our morning tea to come out of the oven while I write this post…. Xx

If you love to stitch with a bold, bright spectrum of colour while taking inspiration from captivating floral forms then we would love to have you join us in Perth, Western Australia for our retreat in July 2027!

We’re excited to be coming back to such a gorgeous part of our country after many, many requests! (Thank you for your enthusiasm! It means the world to us!)

We’re hosting our luxury stitching retreat in the Rydges Hotel in Kings Park, right in the centre of Perth.

We've designed a four day, three night program where you'll be working on Lisa's new project, "Best in Show'.

What you'll enjoy:
🌷4 Lunches, morning and afternoon tea for all 4 workshop days.
🌷4 Days of workshops including all materials - just bring your sewing kit!
🌷An immersive experience at the Rydges KingsPark in Perth where you'll be able to stay and stitch into the evening after the workshop day ends. 🥂

🎀Accommodation:
Because our venue is right in the city, we've left the choice of accommodation to you. The venue is close to transport for those wanting to go home each day.
The hotel will soon be providing us a link to book accommodation at a special price, or you might want to stay somewhere else - airbnb with a group of friends perhaps?

🎀The Project:
"Best in Show" is made with a combination of colourful old and new materials - including antique quilt pieces, dyed cottons and silks, ribbons, buttons and other foraged for treasures!
It's inspired by Lisa's visits to regional country fairs and that most Australian of traditions, the Royal Easter Show.

See the WORKSHOPS AND RETREATS section of our website for all the details.

We’re excited to be launching a series of zoom classes in conjunction with our friends Stitch a Story!

❓How it works:
Once a month, for 6 months, you’ll meet in person at Stitch a Story where I’ll join you, via the magic of a one-hour Zoom session.
During our zoom time I’ll share an overview of what we’ll be working on for the next month , along with show and tell, and you’ll have the opportunity to send photos of your progress so we can discuss and I can provide feedback and advice.
As part of your enrollment you’ll also have access to our online “Technique Library” with short videos that show you the techniques discussed, giving you something to refer back to as you work on your project.
After our zoom time together you’ll then “stay and play” in person, with your classmates, in the beautiful Stitch a Story classroom.
🫖🧵🧁

🗓️We’ll be working on my FAVOURITE THINGS quilt during our meet up each month, for 6-months.

💻I’ll join you and your classmates at the start of each class for a one hour zoom session. You’ll be in the classroom at Stitch a Story, and I’ll be in the FORAGE studio in Sydney - magic!

❤️Commencing 19th August
