On 31 August 2025 we received funds from our first debenture to support the purchase of our first community battery, Bessie, at our community-owned Energy Park.

On Monday we paid our first round of debenture interest to 90 co-operative members. That's $65,700 in total that has gone straight back into the pockets of our members, a real example of community wealth building in action.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the debenture, which raised $1.09 million towards this project.

From 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026 our four EV Chargers were utilised 7,483 times. This equates to an average of 20.5 sessions every day.

The most utilised charger was the Hepburn Springs Bathhouse one, with 2,665 sessions (728 more than last financial year) equating to 35.6% of all sessions.

We saw the number of charging sessions in March - June rise above the monthly average following the start of the fuel crisis.

Did you know that Hepburn Energy (formerly Hepburn Wind) has been generating power from wind for over 15 years now?

As we look back on what we have achieved in the last 15 years, we are going to share some photos that make up this time...

As a community owned cooperative, members were invited out to the farm to see the construction of the wind turbines. They brought their chairs, their picnics and their binoculars to witness this historical moment where we became the first community owned wind farm in Australia.

During 2025 and 2026, six community organisations led a Community Electrification Engagement Program thanks to funding from Sustainability Victoria.

Sustainability Victoria provided $660,000 in funding across these six organisations.

These community organisations leveraged this funding to deliver $2.79 million in social and monetary value through events, communications and one-on-one consultations, equating to an average leveraged ratio of 4.2:1

These are the results that community-led, place-based engagement delivers.

‍Support the future: While the swap is free, gold coin donations are warmly welcomed to help us celebrate our 25th Anniversary in 2027.
