She is the shaper of trees. She feeds from the trees and polishes her tusks. She will move the weak parts of you and stand hugely beside you. She will tell you to be her equal and you should face her fiercely because if you don't see yourself worthy you are the reason you will be trampled. She is the keeper of memories and can be harsh when you sit in the pool of self pity. She is a shaper of trees, trust her to shape yours. 🐘

🌿🐦 Wild Encounters! 🐦🌿

So, I’ve had two very persistent visitors lately—a tawny frogmouth and a galah! 🦉🦜 They keep showing up, and I have NO idea why. But I think I know how to figure it out... I’m starting with an intention board.✨

And the scorpion said to the frog. "I can't help it, it's in my nature." The scorpion is the latest addition to appear in my painting and I've been trying to decipher why it's appearing to me now. They're intimidating creatures with their pincers and stinger and survive in harsh conditions. I've found that I'm being reminded of childhood happenings and for much of my childhood I've been in survival mode. I had developed a hard shell to protect myself and found it hard to trust anyone but myself. I've forgotten a lot of this but the universe has its ways of bringing things back into your current awareness if constantly being avoided. As a mother with a now five year old daughter I'm noticing how my own daughter is triggering my five year old self. And as a mother I can no longer dismiss what I went through as being "nothing that bad" when I can't even envision my own daughter going though it. If I'd never allow my daughter to go through what I did why do I allow myself so much less. The scorpion is teaching me to look at my young self as if I were my own daughter and this time I'll begin to acknowledge her rather than run away from her or minimise the depth of her feelings.

What does an Elephant mean to you? I often have elephants appear in my paintings and usually they are there to speak to me about my family unit. Elephants remind us to stand strong in our space among others, to not allow ourselves to be trampled upon, to be a helper in the family unit and to also...and this is important, to also accept help! As a mother to a toddler I am often reminded that when I don't stand my ground and also push for that space of self care and alone time, I have a strong influence on the household energy and cannot give to my family when I am not able to give to myself. 🐘
