The first Alchemy of the year is always my favourite - catching up with everyone, hearing their holiday stories and plans for the new year - and this year, we get to share heaps of new exciting news with you too!

Dinner/drinks starts at 6.30pm if you're able, we have the whole back restaurant reserved (so bring your friends!), and dance the night away from 8pm.

Can't wait to see you all, hope the Christmas season treated you well.

Happy New Year's Eve everybody! 2017 is going to be a new beginning for swing in Northern Tas. We have some exciting announcements to make shortly but first we need you to make a swing new years resolution - and better yet, tell your friends that 2017 can be the year that changes their life... If they start swing dancing!

Hi everybody,

Tony here.

A few people already know, but just letting everybody know...

This Wednesday night will be the last class for swing patrol Tasmania in Launceston! Also happens to be our Christmas alchemy night! We would love to see you all there to celebrate / Thank you all for an amazing 10 years Rach and I have had!!!
Also to celebrate 🎉 Christmas 🎄 time!!!

Unfortunately we do not have as much time to dedicate to teaching now as I travel a lot for work and we have the most amazing, gorgeous little girl (Ariella) at home that takes up a lot of our time! She is such a little groover!!! As soon as the music is on, the feet start grooving and bouncing! Look out in A few years! ;-)

Rachel and I have been on an amazing journey over the last 10 years and met so many wonderful people along the way!

There are so many people that we need to thank for the support over the last 10 years but there is just too many... but there are a few that I need to mention!!!

From swing patrol for letting us in to your wonderful family of Swing patrol! What an amazing ride! I have been dancing for a long time but when I came across the Lindy hop... I found the style that really got me!

Graham,
If it was not for Graham asking us 10 years ago!!! We would not be here today! Thanks mate for pushing us to jump into it with out any swing dancing experience! We were flying blind, not knowing if we could do it! but look where we are now! 10 years later :-)

Thank you so much for the passion, energy and support that you guys brought into our scene! Tom you saved me so many times when I really needed a break!

Your support over the last 12 months have been amazing... teaching/ DJ'ing, running the show when we both Rach and I could not be there! if it wasn't for your love and energy that you bring, We wouldn't of been able to have kept it going!

Everybody that comes to class every week! Thank you so much...
Seeing you guys every week with a smile on your face as you come in the door and watching you smile and laugh with each other through class has kept me going over the last 12 months!

So! Wednesday! Hope everyone has recovered from Swingmania and are ready to dance again tonight!

Tonight we'll be working on several fun 6 and 8 beat things, including a few of my favourite games...want to know more? Well you'll just have to be there :P

Also I'm finally getting a chance to watch the Melbourne Performance Ball videos from mid October, have a look through some to pick up a few nifty moves or just to see what else other schools are working on - here's one below:

Tonight is basically the start of Swingmania with interstaters already arriving! Plus we're going to be working on the loveliest (in my opinion) of the swing dances - balboa!
Here's a video from the Melbourne Performance Ball last weekend - so simple and yet so much fun, and perfect for a packed floor. Let's see if we can have a packed class - see you 6.30pm!

CLASS TONIGHT! We're in the final stages of preparing for Swingmania, and without a doubt somewhere there will be a group charleston - so tonight we'll start off with that, then work through some tandem charleston and balboa so we're all set and ready for the amazing classes by Catherine and Max.

Tickets are still available, but not long left now so you need to register asap if you haven't yet - everyone will be talking about it for weeks, or months, or years, so don't miss out.
