City of Launceston RSL Band Official Brass Band for the Launceston City Council Simon Partridge leads this strong B Grade community band.

The City of Launceston RSL Band is a not for profit community brass band based in Launceston Tasmania & Official Band for the Launceston City Council.We are always seeking new brass and percussion players and actively encourage those who have never played in a brass band to come along and sit in to try it out. The band holds regular concerts throughout the year and performs at many local community

What a magnificent afternoon at Bands in the Round 2026!!!

Five bands in one afternoon - four from Tasmania and one from the mainland. It was fabulous to see our friends from other bands and to hear the diverse range of music each band had prepared. The concert then culminated in a massed band performance - a fitting way to end a wonderful afternoon!

Thank you to all who came along and supported us and the wider banding community. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did 🎺🎶😊

An honour to play at both dawn and 11am services in Launceston today.

Extra special scenes and sounds with the Junior Band (aka The Buzz) joining the Senior Band to play for the 11am service at the Launceston Cenotaph.

The pictures tell it all. Real community, respect, and remembrance shared across the generations. The enthusiasm and talent of our younger players combined with the experience of those who have been playing longer made today truly special.

Special thanks to our bugler for both services, Evelyn, to Ian for conducting the dawn service, and to Simon for conducting the main service and all of the behind the scenes preparation.

Last night’s rehearsal was pretty special!

Our Junior Band (aka The Buzz) joined forces with the Senior Band to prepare for the City of Launceston Official Anzac Day services.

Shared music, shared tradition, shared purpose across the generations. Always an honour to play - and the combined strength and sounds of our younger and more seasoned players side by side promises to reflect the significance of the day.

Music in the Park is back for 2026! There have already been some brilliant local artists featured in this fantastic FREE series by the City of Launceston Official and we're excited to be playing for you on Sunday 15th February between 12:30pm and 2:30pm.
