So I took this photo whilst we were away on the East Coast.. and there are many things that come to mind like how wonderful it is to be on country, gathering in that amazing sun we had 🌞

But then as I was driving to work this morning I thought about this photo, whilst yes it's fantastic that we have our knowledge that is being shared with our younger ones, but what I thought about was how our younger ones take on that knowledge

When I look at this picture, it reminds me of the split second I captured it.. Karen in her element yes but our Cruze giving his mum and his mob time, the time to stop on our walk to the beach, the time to embrace the knowledge that his mum shares, there was no hurry just a pause to enjoy where we were and what we were doing in that moment.. then it dawned on me all our younger ones do the same thing and how great is that!

How special is it to give them a space where they are proud of what is being shared with them and proud to be themselves together ❤️

Timme was taken from his homeland as a boy, captured by a roving party, and later accompanied George Augustus Robinson on expeditions across Tasmania and to Victoria.

In 1842, at just 27 years old, Timme was hanged beside Tunnerminnerwait, after being found guilty of murder.

His life ended far from the country of his ancestors, far from the stories, the language, and the land that shaped him.

Timme’s Canoe – A Pathway Home, is a vessel of remembrance. A fabricated sculptural form of a bark canoe, crafted in the spirit of Tasmanian maritime tradition, will be installed on Tebrakunna Country.

Timme’s canoe was part of Mannalargenna Day. We held a special smoking ceremony to welcome Timme home to his country and the land of his ancestors.

It stands as a symbol of Timme’s spiritual return to his family’s country—a place of healing, truth-telling, and cultural reconnection.

The canoe is more than a sculpture. It is a story. It is a pathway. It is a commitment to honour those who were taken, those who were silenced, and those whose spirits still walk this land.

How do you find the words to describe how amazing this event is, it is easy to see why it is our absolute favourite! 🖤💛❤️

A huge thank you to everyone involved in putting this together, from those behind the scenes to the set up, the smooth running throughout the day, to everything after the fact. We appreciate each and every one of you, please know your hard work and compassion doesn't go unnoticed 🫶

We will share some photos with you all from our fantastic time spent on country with our mob in the coming days.. we just wanted to share some special love and appreciation first 🥰

Thanks to all our beautiful volunteers who helped set up before the event, those who served during the day and those who helped pack up all before lunchtime...epic effort everyone.

The countdown is on, not long now 🫶
We have been busy in the background preparing to be at this amazing event..
This is definitely one of our favourites, there is just something special about being with our mob on country ❤️
