Fletch

Fletch is originally from Adelaide. Fletch used to live in the outback as a roo shooter for macro meats.

We met Fletch and Basil the blue & gold macaw at Lancefield Farmers Market. Basil is 6.5 year old and super friendly.

Fletch loves animals, he is a proud father of Basil the blue & gold macaw, an albino Darwin python called Monty and a gorgeous dog. He finds his joy from his animals. His mission in life is to make people smile and comfort them. “People don’t care what you know, until they now you care!”

Fletch’s life motto is that ‘A half-life lived to the full, is better than a full life half lived!!’ Fletch recently moved to Lancefield and he is enjoying every minute of it. “Lancefield is just beautiful, people are friendly and very accepting”

He recall his first night at Lancefield, “the first night I stayed there, I woke up to -6 degrees Celsius and my car wouldn’t start because it was literally frozen.” @ Lancefield, Victoria

Lucinda Mathews
Gap year student | conservationist

Lucinda is endearingly knowns as Lulu, is one of the originals. She is born and bred in Lancefield and proudly call it her home. Lucinda recently finished her high school, taken a gap year to travel the world. Unfortunately, COVID 19 happened and her travel plans are on hold. However, during this time of challenge Lulu is focusing her energy on wine making and preserving Australian wildlife and ecosystems.

Lulu is passionate about the Australian wildlife and ecosystems, in particularly the ones around Lancefield and Macedon Ranges. She is planning to commence a University next year and one day have the qualifications and knowledge to share with others the same passion she has to help protect and care for the beautiful surrounds in which we all live.

We asked her what she love about Lancefield, she replied, “I love how Lancefield for most people is not just a place to live but a community to be part of. I’ve always been proud to call myself a Lanny local. I think that that sense of pride for our town creates a lovely atmosphere and encourages people to better themselves and be more present within the community.”

“As humans I believe we are given a very rare opportunity to have a beneficial impact on planet Earth that is not gifted to other species but subsequently allows us to demise and mistreat others. In saying that, I believe life is an exciting exploration of who we are as individuals and it eventually guides us to our place within the world.”

She is eager to explore what life has to offer and right now she is exploring herself. “I am learning to be my true self in every single moment, I believe being truthful to yourself and others is important.”

“For me, life is a compilation of all the intricate phases we live through, that in turn mould us into the beings that we become.”

Imagine a multidimensional spider’s web in the early morning covered with dew drops. And every dew drop contains the reflection of all the other dew drops. In each reflected dew drop, the reflection of all the other dew drops in that reflection. And so ad infinitum. That is the Buddhist conception of the universe in an image.⠀
