With works like these happening in Art Explorers lately I cannot wait for tomorrow afternoon.

✨ CREATE NIGHT — AUGUST ✨

This month, we’re playing with paint.

Mixing colours. Trying different brushes. Layering, blending, marking and experimenting just to see what happens.

Then we’ll take all that colour and creative play and turn it into your own abstract colour work — or layer it with symbols, shapes or simple words that mean something to you. 🎨

No experience. No perfect painting. No pressure to make it “good”.

Just a couple of hours to switch off, experiment, make something completely your own and head into the weekend feeling a little more creatively alive. ✨

August with Alleyway ✨

🫟Art Explorers — our Term 3 kids are well into Pieces of Us, exploring favourite things, places and people through drawing, painting, 3D elements and mixed media. This popular class has a few spaces now open, your young creative can join us for the remaining weeks of term!

🌊 The Creative Block — our 6-week adult watercolour series begins this month. We’ll be exploring colour, animals, places we love, travel-journal style sketching and more — building skills and a collection of work along the way. Casual drop-ins are welcome too, this is a weekly creativity moment you will want to put on your schedule.

✨ Create Night — this month we’re playing with colour, layering fluid watercolours and rich acrylics to create something completely your own. No experience, no rules, just two hours of creative freedom and a good night out.

August is looking very creative around here. 💙

Your Thursday mornings could look like this... 💙🎨

Two hours to slow down, play with paint, experiment and see what happens.

This is one of the little watercolour experiments we'll be playing with in our first watercolour Creative Block session — exploring what happens when water, pigment and a brush meet the page, experimenting with a range of techniques on one page.

And that's really what I'm looking forward to about this block.

Not six weeks of trying to make perfect paintings.

Six weeks of trying things.

Finding techniques you love.

Discovering what watercolour can do.

Making things inspired by the people, places, animals, food and little things you love.

And by the end of it, having a little collection of work that makes you feel pretty proud.

Creative Block starts this Thursday. 💙
