Hot Chocolate Saga Pt 3.The Search Goes On. For this weeks sojourn decided to travel to the Southern Highlands and revel in the tranquillity of the lovely Dee Lagoon. (see photo at top of page) Loaded the ute with everything necessary for this arduous trek....sangers,fruit,drink,thin sweater, thick sweater, parka, rainjacket, book, shovel, dont need a phone there...no signal........First port of call the boat launching place,,,sat in sun gazing down the lake overwhelmed with memories...14 Noo Years in a row in the shack...hundreds of hours with the wee boy in the luxury tinnie...being forced ashore in a storm and hiding under bushes...getting lost in a snow storm in the middle of the lake in effing summer...too many mems to list....so visited more places THEN....went to The Local Shop For Local People ( we'll have no trouble here).......entered to find the same guy sitting behind the counter what was there 20 plus years ago......Hi I said..Hi he said. I'd like a Hot Chocolate please...OK he said...would you that hot hot or just warm....Ah I thought he must be a trained barista....hot hot I said....No worries he said and turned to a complicated looking machine and started turning k***s and pushing buttons and sliding levers then sat back down and resumed reading the Highland Digest...I wandered arrround looking at dusty fishing gear dusty and overpriced outdoor gear dubious looking fruit and interestingly a rack of girly mags...( well I thought its rural tasmania) he called out Ya drinks done...thanks I said paid and exited.....Sat in ute and cautiously sipped drink......thought after 1st sip if this is his idea of HotHot thank Buddha I didnt ask for it warm........................... Have decided for the next sojourn to try the East Coast.....maybe those folk will know the meaning of Hot in a Hot drink...
