Goodness gracious! What a delight it is to have Anne Gleeson (E.A. Gleeson) bringing her deep and reflective poetry to Simba Sessions this June 12th!!!

Anne is an award-winning Australian poet who has presented her work in Ireland, England, the USA, Estonia and most states of Australia. She loves the challenge of telling important stories in a poetic form.

Anne draws on a rich variety of experience in Education, Pastoral Care, Disability, Funeral Care and Bereavement and has published four collections of poetry and numerous essays and articles.

We are over the moon to have and reciting some of her poetry alongside incredible singer songwriters Bec & Piwaka .

Doors open at 7 pm for a 730 start. Food and wine available for purchase. Entry $20.

Good gracious me! - how much fun June Simba will be!
We are so lucky to have the beautiful and talented Bec Sykes back at our humble little event!

Hauntingly beautiful melancholic melodies, brushed with thought provoking lyrics and pattered piano and guitar. You won’t regret making it to this one, folks.

Along the side back, we have incredible alt/ folk Indi singer-songwriter, , much celebrated local poet and writer, E.A. Gleeson !!!

Start booking those tickets because these ones are likely to fly out the door.

Guess who is hosting a stage at Sacrededge festival this year! That’s right! It’s us– how did you guess?

If you haven’t heard of this beautiful little community festival in Queenscliff, you should check it out!
It’s like one big Simba Sessions. There will be music, poetry, workshops, creativity, keynote speakers, games for kids Young and old and times for reflection.

It’s like a deep breath out that lasts all weekend.
It’s like a hug from Wills that often just gives you a punch in the face instead.
It’s like what community should be like. Open, loving, inclusive, nurturing and inspiring.

Parts arts festival, part creative retreat, Sacrededge Festival is a place that celebrates diversity and seeks to give voice to those cultures and subcultures at the edges of society. This beautiful festival supports and promotes LGBTQ AI plus voices, first nations voices, refugee voices, those who live with disability, promote mental health and spiritual well-being, and those who seek to help us have a more gentle footprint and loving relationship to the Earth and Ocean.

If you need a bit this in your life, come along. There’s a link to tickets.

Simba is hosting a stage with some of our favourite poets and songwriters taking part in a two parts in sessions as well as a poetry jam segment with none other than: Shyaire Ganglani, Yaru, Sarah St James/Sadie, Romaan and special guest and new comer to the Simba stage, Mietta!

Find a way to get there if you can but if not, we’ll see you for business as usual on May 8 in Kyneton.

Beautiful night it was on Friday! A massive thank you to these incredible artists for holding us all in story and song as we shed some of the weight of the mountains on our shoulders.

A huge shout out to , & .chandler.stories for their beautiful offerings, the colour, the passion and the joy that you brought us all.

Stay tuned to this channel for more pics and glimpses and though we won’t see you in April as it’s full of many other things, we will see you back on May 8 with another killer lineup.

Story time at Simba this Friday! We can barely handle the anticipation of having longtime friend of Simba, Emma Chandler as our beautiful q***r folk-tale-telling wanderer tomorrow night!

Emma is a professional storyteller , wondering at festivals large and small and delivering strange and alluring stories from five minutes to twenty minutes in length, from memory. She is magic to behold.

Come and support Emma alongside incredibles singer songwriters & this Friday in Kyneton.

We are beside ourselves to have one of our favourite Australian singer songwriters playing at Simba Sessions next Friday night on March 13!
Ainslie Wills is a phenomenal artist who has the ability to put into words things that few of us can. Her songwriting and vocals are extraordinary and every performance is a unique and special invitation to drawing in a bit deeper to what matters.

She will be playing along the side stunning harmonic duo, Oceaniquemusic and mythic storyteller Emma Chandler !

Tell all your friends to book in the babysitter and don’t miss this ridiculous lineup!
