Kuranda Roots - FNQ’s festival of World, Reggae, Soul and Bass Music returns for its 22nd birthday at Kanjini Campground at the foot of stunning Emerald Creek Falls. Kuranda Roots celebrates the creative magic of the Kuranda and Far North Queensland community, alongside global guests, cultural and well-being workshops, and a food and craft market village.

WELCOME TO BULUWAI / DJABUGAY COUNTRY. Kanjini is on the traditional land of the Buluwai and Djabugay Bama (people). Respect the country, the wildlife, waterways and each other at all times.

WHAT TO BRING
Smiles, laughs, funky dance moves, warm clothes for cold nights, swimmers, towel, hat and all the necessities for a comfy camp.



WASTE, COMPOSTING & RECYCLING

Please LEAVE NO TRACE. We encourage all patrons to leave no waste or vegetable matter behind. Kanjini is a wildlife sanctuary and all vegetable scraps NEED TO BE PUT IN THE COMPOST BINS. Please use the recycle stations, and take your landfill waste with you. Bless!



PETS

There is a strict NO DOGS policy. If you bring your dog you will be asked to leave Kanjini immediately.



DRUGS AND ALCOHOL

Kuranda Roots is a drug and alcohol free festival space and we encourage you to enjoy the natural high of the music and spectacular environment.



RESPECT THE WATERWAYS

Kanjini is home to Platypi, rare frogs and aquatic life. Soap, detergents and shampoo is strictly forbidden. Do not use the creek as a toilet, please use the toilets provided! FOOD / DRINKS

Emerald Dreaming is a family friendly camp out designed to connect you to nature, community and your creative spirit. Held at the foot of Emerald Falls in the stunning Kanjini Campground on Bulwai country, Emerald Dreaming is a chance for you to totally unwind, nourish your nervous system and express yourself through dance and music. Our daily program starts with meditation and yoga, poets breakfast, a range of creative and healing workshops including breathwork and ZenThai Shiatsu bodywork, open mic jamming, evening concerts and campfire jams.

Special guests include...
AMAZONAS - uplifting South American world music vibes featuring singer Juan Camelo and multi instrumentalist Celestino.
ICARO - brings Reggae, rasta, Roots, Dancehall, Afro latin and more to the stage. Raised in Colombia amongst the ethnic rhythms of the tambores and maracas,Icaro’s vision is to share his mix of traditional culture and reggae music.
SOLOMON - King of the mid-temp grooves, FNQ’s venerable veteran Solomon tunes into nature’s heart beat and rides the pulse.
TOSHI SAKAMOTO - Japanese songwriter and now beloved Kuranda local, Toshi’s unique style has a zen and other-worldly quality.
DIZZAONE - flawless reggae selecta and organiser of Ellis Beach Reggae.
RUDEKAT - selecta of fine Jamaican Dancehall & soul.
DJINNA - Afrobeats/ Amapiano/ Afrohouse

***Roots Update***
There have been many people asking, yes Kuranda Roots is taking a break this year.

We have been going since 2003 and we thought it best to take some time out, to rest and recharge.

We are looking forward to coming back full power in 2027!
In the meantime, happy Solstice, positive vibes and much much love to you all,
