We’re excited to welcome Tom Curtain from the Katherine Outback Experience back to our part of the North!

If you caught the show last time, you’ll know just how good it is and be going again, and if you didn’t, this is one to put in the calendar.

We absolutely love seeing our grounds come alive for events like this, and we’re pretty lucky to have touring shows of this calibre making Kununurra one of their stops!

The sun has set on another Kununurra Rodeo, and with that, it's a wrap on our 2026 events. 🌅🤠
What an incredible year it's been for the Kununurra Campdraft & Rodeo Association. From the Campdraft to the Rodeo, we've been overwhelmed by the support of our amazing community. Thank you to everyone who came along, cheered from the sidelines, volunteered their time, and helped make every event such a success.

To our sponsors – thank you for standing beside us year after year. Your ongoing support allows us to keep growing and delivering events our community can be proud of. We are truly grateful for every one of you.

As we close the gate on 2026, we're already looking ahead to an exciting 2027. We've got some big plans in the works, and we can't wait to have you all along for the ride.

Meet the crew behind the chaos... and somehow, the organisation 😎

The faces in this photo are the committee behind KCRA, along with a few volunteers who jumped in on the night.

What people see are two incredible events each year. What they don't see are the months leading up to them.

Countless phone calls. Maintenance. Sponsor meetings. Grants. Compliance. Budgets. Prizes. Stock logistics. Nominations. Rosters. Advertising. Last-minute curveballs... and enough group messages to make anyone want to throw their phone in the lake!

Every single person here is a volunteer. They all have their own lives, jobs, businesses, families, young kids and commitments outside of KCRA, yet they continue to give up their time because they believe this community deserves events like these.

This photo doesn't include every volunteer who helped across the year, but it does represent the team who spend months making sure the campdraft and rodeo can happen.

To our committee, and to every volunteer who lent a hand, thank you. You've built something pretty special for our community ❤️

Now to enjoy a well-earned rest... until the group chat springs back to life to talk 2027 😅

They say it takes a village… well, it takes a fair few stations and contractors too 🤠

A massive thank you to Newry, Auvergne, Legune, Limbunya, Springvale, Rosewood, Bunda, Conair Contracting and Bullstrap Contracting for everything you did behind the scenes.

We see the early starts, the gate shifts, the backyard crew, the arena help, the BBQs, and everyone turning up exactly where the roster said you needed to be (even if a few heads were feeling a little ordinary in the morning 😉)!

This is what makes our event so special. Everyone has each other’s back so volunteers can swap out, competitors can have their run, and everyone still gets the chance to enjoy the weekend.

It’s a pretty special community we’ve built, and it simply wouldn’t happen without people willing to roll up their sleeves and help wherever they’re needed.

We might not have photos of you all, but we see you ❤️
