My two daughters studied biology, the youngest zoology and environmental conservation, the eldest microbiology. Of course, I had to adapt myself, get some fundamentals in biology and create a painting expressing biology!!!
Most of the universities changed the name of their faculty of “biology” to faculty of “life science”. Is life really linked to biology? Of course it is linked, but biology is strongly linked to chemistry and physics. In fact, scientifically speaking, following basic conditions are required to create life (I’m simplistic):
- Fundamental physical forces of universe creating the planet on which life will exist
- Gravity
- Light radiation from a star to create the right temperature
- Elements Carbon, Oxygen, …
My painting represents chemistry on the left and physics on the right. Biology is in the center linked to both sides. Hem… hope the biologists will approve!
