Logan City Historical Museum

Logan City Historical Museum We are dedicated to showcasing the rich history of Logan from European settlement in 1826 to the present day.

Our exhibits highlight themes such as farming, mining, timber, industry, railways, schools, and Logan's role in both World Wars. Logan City Historical Museum is located in the Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct, in a new purpose-built facility. We have many historical artefacts from the original Kingston Butter Factory on display as well as a wide selection of household and local industry i

tems. The Museum is operated by a dedicated group of volunteers, who are passionate about history and the part that European settlements have played in the local area. There are fascinating photographs of the Kingston Gold Mine and WWII airfields established around Logan, as well as historical and personal memorabilia illuminating the lives of Logan’s inhabitants over one and a half centuries.

Vietnam Veterans Day Commemoration
Logan City Historical Museum was honoured to attend Mabel Park State High School’s moving Vietnam Veterans Day commemorative service.
The occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the service, courage and sacrifice of the Australian men and women who served during the Vietnam War. A presentation was made by Annette Maddison on behalf of Logan City Historical Museum a copy of Country Boys to Country Heroes to Principal Trent Cowley and Mabel Park SHS. This year is especially significant as we mark the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan and remember the mateship and bravery shown by those who served.
Our sincere thanks to Mabel Park SHS for inviting Annette Maddison and Principal Trent Cowley to be part of this important commemoration. We also acknowledge the veterans, special guests, community representatives and Hospitality students whose contributions helped make the day so meaningful.
Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Lest we forget.
