The school holidays are over and Iβve been feeling a little emotional about how quickly they went.We had two lovely weeks together. But in between all the activities and adventures, there was a business to run, a million things to do and that constant mental to-do list that never really switches off.
And now that heβs back at school, I find myself wishing weβd had more time to do absolutely nothing.
I think the hardest part of juggling motherhood and running a business is that I genuinely love both. But there are days when giving my time to one feels like taking it away from the other. The guilt, oh my goodness, it doesnβt stopβ¦
And the older he gets, the more aware I am of just how quickly these little years are passing.
Iβm sure weβll both remember the adventures. But itβs those slow afternoons, when thereβs nowhere to be and nothing particularly important to do, that I wish I could bottle up.
So today, Iβm going to give my boy an extra-tight hug when I pick him up. Iβm going to play with him, and make a conscious effort to keep my mind focused on being present.
The work will still be there tomorrow. But he wonβt always be this little. π₯Ήβ€οΈ
