Thoughts from our choir conductor! Michelle Shanti 🎶

Something I've been thinking about these last few days, is how much we learn and absorb from each other, without it being planned at all! I spent Monday and Tuesday this week in Melbourne at a choir leader's conference, where there were workshops on singing, arranging, inclusivity and many other topics of interest...however, there was so much additional learning in the gaps between sessions, in the meal breaks, in the conversations with people you just met. It's incredible- you think you're going somewhere to learn about something specific but then the universe conspires to gift you something entirely different.. a new friendship, a collaboration opportunity, new ideas and inspiration! Being part of a national network of singers is awesome!! I'm so grateful to the amazing team at and for an excellent couple of days, and for all the work they do to support community singing across the country! We understand so much these days about the beneficial effects of group singing on our health, it is definitely something worth exploring! Plus, its fun. You always leave feeling good!

Our conductor Michelle will be performing at the Green Light Market in Willunga, this Saturday! 💚

Michelle Shanti is a gentle yet powerful feminine presence who lives and breathes music, sound and nature! Weaving folk and pop with echoes of rock, she’ll be playing a bunch of new songs at 12pm at our Spring Equinox Festival Day, this Saturday!

Michelle Shanti will be joining us on stage for our Chalk Board Lineup at the GreenLight Spring Equinox Festival on the 27/09/2025
The festival starts at 10AM and Finishes at 4PM
At the GreenLight Market grounds in Willunga.
