2020 is my creative year. With the stresses of family life and becoming a carer, my art has taken a back seat. But in the last few months I've been trying to find a balance again, as art really does help me cope with life's ups and downs. My aim for this year is to post every Friday, and where I can post a cope extra when I have projects on the go. Looking forward to sharing with you. Lots of love Wendy.

I love odd things. Here's my crazy random charm quilt.

Instead of sewing two charm pieces together and then cutting (giving you two squares the same), I decided to go completely random and cut all 42 charms first, then sewing triangles together randomly, so no two squares were the same. I love the outcome.

It's not finished yet. We're off to the big smoke on the weekend, and I simply must go to Spotlight to find some matching fabric for a border and backing. Ha! And not just for this one quilt lol

A post from Wendy (it has been awhile I know) Had the most amazing day on Friday. I went to my art journal class and we started talking about new projects to try. So on a whim we came back later that night to play with some acrylics and silicone.

I'm a big fan of Leslie Ohnstad works and have been following her on YouTube under ColourArte. I did three canvases following her instructions with fluid acrylic and silicone. Was amazed by the way cells continued to form until the paint was dry. (I had to message her to say a big thank you for sharing her classes).

I'm glad no one was filming us, as one of my friends and I were jumping around and giggling as we watched the images developing before our eyes. I was exhausted and very stiff that night but my heart was full of fire. Mentally it was just what the doctor ordered.

Ooopsie. As the saying goes "measure twice, cut once". However, there is also a saying that goes something like "there are no mistakes in art".

I cut my disappearing nine patch incorrectly but I like the outcome. On the second cut, instead of cutting 2 1/4 in (half way), I cut at 1 1/4".

Turned this patch into a little minkie blankie.
