Poetry and storytelling are strangely not considered an essential purpose, so yesterday we took the poet to the border...
At the moment the Killarney community is cut in two by the border lockdown. Our NSW-based friends can only cross the border for essentials, and what was a workable "Border Bubble" is now very, very difficult to work out. They don't know what to expect over the next few months... Right now they are feeling a bit forgotten.
So yesterday, with our Killarney Story Weekend poet, Anisa Nandaula in tow, we took the poetry to the border for a pop-up slam poetry performance.
What a way to close a wonderful weekend!

We have our Writers' Dinner on tonight and still have limited tickets available on the door. Then sessions on performance poetry, publishing, storytelling and our Performers Lunch tomorrow at 12.30 at the Killarney Senior Citizens Centre!

Our Writers Dinner will be a great night of storytelling!
Led by local writer Jo Brosnan, as MC, we will hear from poet, Anisa Nandaula and author, J. A. Henderson (Jan Andrew Henderson) about their lives and careers. There will be a two-course meal and some fun audience activities, too!
Tickets are $40 Adults, $30 for Concessions and $20 for Children.
The dinner will be held at the Killarney Show & Rodeo Society Supper Room from 6pm on Sat 6 November.
