Another beautiful highlight from the Pavilion at this year’s Kiama Show 🧵✨

Congratulations to Ron being awarded Best Exhibit in Cross Stitch.

The time, patience, and detail that go into pieces like this are truly incredible, and this artwork certainly captured the attention of visitors throughout the Show.

We’ve been reminiscing on some of the incredible Pavilion entries from this year’s Kiama Show and what better place to start than our Kia-Bald Portrait Class 🎨✨

This section always stops people in their tracks, with so many talented artists sharing portraits filled with personality, emotion, and storytelling.

A huge congratulations to our winner, Tiffany Springett, with her vibrant portrait of her mother, Michelle Springett.

Runner-up was awarded to Colleen Behl for her arresting self-portrait, which captured plenty of attention throughout the weekend.

And of course, our People’s Choice Award winner Fiona Turner warmed hearts with her beautiful portrait of her grandson titled “My Boy.”

To everyone who entered, thank you for helping make our Pavilion such a special part of the Show each year. We absolutely love seeing the creativity and talent within our community!

Have you started thinking about who you’ll enter next year? 🤔

Over the weekend, the Kiama Show Society held our Annual General Meeting (AGM). An AGM is an important yearly meeting where members come together to reflect on the past year, discuss the future of the organisation, elect the executive committee, and recognise the incredible contributions of volunteers and members within the society.

Our President for the past three years, Mr Guy Stearn, delivered a wonderful speech reflecting on the improvements and progress made throughout his time in the role. Guy spoke about embracing new technologies and modernising the show to help make information and processes easier and more accessible for both our members and visitors into the future.

During the evening, we were also proud to acknowledge Guy’s outstanding contribution to the show by awarding him Life Membership for over 10 years of dedication and service to the Kiama Show Society. Thank you, Guy, for everything you have done for our show community — your hard work and commitment are greatly appreciated.

After an incredible three years as President, Guy chose to stand down from the position, and we were excited to welcome Mr Matt Downes as our new President. Matt’s family has been involved with the show for many years, and we look forward to the knowledge, passion, and leadership he will bring to the role.

We also held the election of our Executive Committee for the upcoming year.

Celebrating Our 2026 Life Members 🎉

At this year’s Kiama Show, we had the honour of awarding Life Membership to two incredibly deserving individuals – David Oxley and Jeff Williams 👏

Both David and Jeff have shown outstanding dedication, commitment, and passion for our Show and community over many years. Their contributions have played a huge role in shaping what the Kiama Show is today, and this recognition is so well deserved.
