Over the weekend, the Kiama Show Society held our Annual General Meeting (AGM). An AGM is an important yearly meeting where members come together to reflect on the past year, discuss the future of the organisation, elect the executive committee, and recognise the incredible contributions of volunteers and members within the society.
Our President for the past three years, Mr Guy Stearn, delivered a wonderful speech reflecting on the improvements and progress made throughout his time in the role. Guy spoke about embracing new technologies and modernising the show to help make information and processes easier and more accessible for both our members and visitors into the future.
During the evening, we were also proud to acknowledge Guy’s outstanding contribution to the show by awarding him Life Membership for over 10 years of dedication and service to the Kiama Show Society. Thank you, Guy, for everything you have done for our show community — your hard work and commitment are greatly appreciated.
After an incredible three years as President, Guy chose to stand down from the position, and we were excited to welcome Mr Matt Downes as our new President. Matt’s family has been involved with the show for many years, and we look forward to the knowledge, passion, and leadership he will bring to the role.
We also held the election of our Executive Committee for the upcoming year.
