We were so proud and honoured to welcome Montana Band, country music duo Jane and Dan, to the Slim Dusty Centre as they filmed parts of their beautiful ode to Kempsey.

There is something incredibly special about the authenticity, love and genuine connection these two have for Kempsey, its people and its country music roots.

Born and raised in the Macleay Valley, Jane’s roots run deep. Her love and pride for her hometown and community shines through in “Hometown Kempsey”. You can hear how much this place means to her in every line.

And listening to Dan speak about Slim Dusty, the King and an icon of Australian country music, you can’t help but be moved by his genuine admiration and respect for Slim, his music and his legacy.

You can’t get any more country than these two. 🤎

They understood the assignment ✅😍

A BIG thank you to Alan and the extremely talented members of the Kempsey Macleay Men’s Shed for the incredible craftsmanship that has gone into creating these beautiful custom-made timber racks for the Slim Dusty Centre Retail Space.

They’ve added a wonderful rustic, country feel to our retail area and are the perfect fit for showcasing our local products and Slim Dusty Centre merchandise.

It’s community craftsmanship like this that makes our Centre feel even more connected to the people and place we call home. We’re incredibly proud to have these beautiful pieces as part of our retail space.
