Well this was an unexpected delight, I’m a finalist for life stages coach of the decade! It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly 10 years since I decided to become a life coach, and hands down it is one of the best things I have done in my life. The inspiring people I have met, the wonderful clients I have supported, and the many wonderful friends I have made over the past few years, would never have been positive without From the other side of forty to the magic of midlife it has been a wonderful ride and long may it continue to be so 💚💚💚

When I first started this page a few years ago, I regularly posted about my love for Ryan Gosling…a crush that has admittedly faded over the ensuing years. Um, hello there Ryan, I think it’s coming back! 😀😍

Yesterday I turned 52 🙌 and celebrated with friends and family in my lovely new home. 🎉 Over the past year as I dealt with separated life post long term marriage and selling the family home, I often felt into a vision of my life in the future: I saw myself sitting in a bright leafy space surrounded by the people I love and lots of joy and laughter. Trusting in this vision kept me going through some pretty emotional and turbulent times, and it was such a blessing last night to have that vision realised. 🥰 If life is a bit tough at the moment please trust that better days are coming…and be fully present in them when they arrive 💚💚💚

I’m really liking discovering a new way to dress in my 50’s. In the past I would have worried that I was too big to wear a jumpsuit (hello mainstream media influence 🙄)As I get older and bolder, my size 16 ass and I love feeling comfortable AND sexy, and this ticks all the boxes (hello multitude of pockets!) Are you getting braver with your fashion choices in midlife? 😍

I quickly snapped the photo on the left as I was heading to a New Year’s Eve party the other day and later decided to compare it to a photo of myself from exactly a year earlier. On the right I see a tired sad woman whose long term marriage had ended and who was fearful of what the future would hold. Now a year later I feel joyful and super excited for a new version of my midlife that is unfolding. I’m at peace with change and I’m creating opportunities for fun and pleasure in my day to day life. This is definitely an ongoing process and I couldn’t have done it without support and guidance. Reach out if you would like to know more about my empowered life coaching packages to help you kickstart your journey of joy and fulfilment in 2023, I’d love to hear from you, Melissa 💚

As the end of the year is rapidly approaching and many of us have time off from work looming, ask yourself the question how do you want to spend it? Scrolling social media has replaced hobbies for many of us and yet there is so much to be gained by play, creative expression and pleasure. So here is your gentle reminder that it is ok to take a screen detox over the festive break (I will be ) and engage in some activities purely for fun! What speaks to you from this list? 💚

I remember seeing a post from a while ago where she talked about how uncommon it was becoming to see expression on women’s foreheads, and while I have absolutely no judgement for anyone’s choices, I think we need to see more representation of midlife women just like Paulina who are naturally ageing with no intervention. So here is my fully expressive forehead in all its glory having an absolute ball at a gig with my son, happy days 😄💚

This year has been incredibly challenging for me as I’ve been navigating the dissolution of my 20 plus year marriage, as well as selling the family home and all the feelings associated with that. Transitions are messy because they are not linear, however I honour all my feelings as I move through them, as I believe an incredible future awaits me. In the meantime, I choose to show up fully present in my life, I foster connection, cultivate joy and embrace play…and that’s the messy magic of my midlife 💖
