Aloha All,
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open for the 18th Annual Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival taking place over the 12th, 13th and 14th February 2027!

To ensure the Festival runs smoothly and provides the best possible experience for performers, volunteers and audiences, all applicants must agree to the following conditions:
• Volunteer Commitment - As in previous years, each performing group is required to contribute by covering two volunteer shifts during the Festival. Volunteers are essential to the successful operation of the event. If your group is unable to commit to volunteering, please do not submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
• Ticketed Event - The Festival is a ticketed event. All performers and attendees must hold a valid Festival ticket or accreditation as required.
• Ukulele-Based Performances - All performances must be ukulele-based. While other instruments may be used to complement a performance, the ukulele must remain the primary instrument.
• Multiple Group Performances - To provide as many groups as possible with the opportunity to perform, musicians who regularly perform with multiple groups (excluding ensembles of 10 or more members) may perform with one additional group only. This restriction does not apply to bass players or drummers.
• Venue Compliance - All performers and attendees must comply with any venue-specific check-in, safety, operational or emergency procedures that are in place during the Festival.
• Festival Organisers' Decisions - The Festival Organising Committee reserves the right to determine performance schedules, venues, performance times and the suitability of all acts. The Committee's decisions are final.
• Acceptance of Conditions - Submission of an Expression of Interest confirms that all members of the performing group have read, understood and agree to these Festival Performance Conditions.

The weekend is finally here! Please travel safely and arrive safely.

If you’re tuning in to ABC 702 AM for the 1pm news, keep the radio on afterward — Buzz Bidstrup is being interviewed. He may chat about the Festival and might even play a song or two.

If you have show and dinner tickets, join us in the Grand Dining Room from 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start. Enjoy performances by the Ukumammas, Duplicity, and the SKA Brothers Fair, along with the renowned Carrington Hotel hospitality.

The Festival kicks off in earnest on Saturday morning, featuring 100 acts across five stages, plus four workshops at the Cultural Centre. The Blue MUGs will close out the day with the final performance.

Sunday’s recovery session begins at 10:00am in the Marquee, with five groups leading the strum from the Ukulele Club Songbook 2.

Our main message for the weekend: travel safely and have fun.

See you up the hill.

🌦️ Weather Update for Katoomba 🌦️

Katoomba sits high in the Blue Mountains, and as we all know, the weather up here can be a little unpredictable. Looking ahead to the weekend, there’s a chance of showers, so it’s a good idea to come prepared.

No need to stress though! If the rain does roll in, our undercover hosting venues have you covered. With sheltered spaces and indoor areas, you’ll stay warm, dry, and comfortable.

Plus, there’ll be plenty of delicious food and drinks to enjoy while you relax and soak up the Festival atmosphere.

We can’t wait to see you at the Festival — rain or shine! ☀️☔
