Nobody at the table saw the second yellow coming

Everyone was watching the ball he actually hit

Fair enough, that's usually where the story ends

But the struck yellow kept travelling

Found its mate sitting quietly across the table

Kissed it just right

And sent it straight into the side pocket

A carom pot nobody in the room was expecting

Including, possibly, him

So what's the verdict

Called it or fluked it πŸ‘‡πŸŽ±

Half a ball of contact was all the red needed...

That's the margin

Most players won't even look at this shot

The angle's too tight, the cut's too thin, the table's too long

So they play something safer and tell themselves it was the smart move

Sometimes it is

But you'll never get better at the shots you keep avoiding

He took it on

Thin cut, full length of the table, straight into the middle

It started with one shaky break and a lot of optimism

Nobody on that first team really knew what they were doing

Two tables, a venue, and a crew still learning each other's names

Then someone suggested entering the comp

Which sounded ridiculous at the time

We entered anyway

Missed a lot, learned faster, kept turning up

Every awkward practice night added up to something

This is a one in a million and nobody was ready for it...

The plan was simple enough

Bounce off the red, drop one in the pocket

Leave both sitting pretty for an easy follow-up

That's not what happened

Both reds ended up jammed in the same pocket at once

Stuck there, refusing to drop, wedged together

The room absolutely lost it

His reaction says everything you need to know

Even the cameraman couldn't hold it steady

You could play a thousand frames and never see this again 🎱

If he misses this, it's over

Miss it and the black sits wide open for the opponent

Game handed over, no coming back

So he has to pot it

But that's only the start of the problem

Because potting it isn't enough on its own

He needs the cue ball to land perfectly for the yellow

Then the yellow has to leave him right for the black

Three shots, all of them linked, no room to be off on any of them

One mistake anywhere and the whole thing collapses

Guess what happens next 🎱

Once the tables go in, that's it

You don't get to move them around later

Not with a tournament running every week and players practising in between

So we spent a long time arguing about the layout before anything got carried in

How much room between tables so nobody's bumping cues

Where the light falls so there are no shadows on the cloth

Which way people walk through without crossing a shot

Where you sit when you're waiting your turn

Every one of those decisions was permanent

Get it wrong and you're living with it for years

Get it right and nobody ever notices

Which is exactly the point 🎱

The yellow isn't the shot...

Watch where the white stops instead

He was in a bad spot before this

Nothing easy, nothing safe, running out of options

Then he plays a long cut right across the table

Yellow drops, but that's the least interesting part

The cue ball keeps rolling and settles dead straight on the black

From trouble to a clear finish in one shot

And if he'd missed it, the game was pretty much gone

So which was it

Lucky or skilled πŸ‘‡πŸŽ±

Amateurs play this safe every single time

And honestly, you couldn't blame them

He was in trouble

Nothing on, nothing easy, nowhere good to leave it

The obvious move was to tap it safe and sit down

Wait for the mistake, live to fight another visit

He didn't do that

Went for the far pocket instead

Long distance, tight angle, no second chances

And it dropped

Everyone watches the pot

Almost nobody watches what made it possible

One soft touch parks the red right on the cushion

Nothing dramatic, barely worth a mention

Except now the angle is perfect

He steps up and cuts it straight into the corner

Looks easy because he made it easy one shot earlier

That's 8-ball done properly
