Found this while moving our shop, a momento dropped off here for the previous owner to frame some time before we bought 5 years ago. As we have no record of who it belongs to or even how old it is we wonder if anyone knows who the rightful owner would be.

Contemplations is temporarily closed to allow for downsizing and relocation of equipment. We will reopen for framing sometime in March.

Contemplations is changing. We are down sizing and moving into a smaller space. Loads of art and giftware need to be sold and much is now at 50% or more off. We will not be doing any framing or stretching until March but will be open from 9.00 12.00 Monday to Saturday for a couple of weeks while packing and moving.

Starting Friday 2nd January we are having a clearance sale. Huge reductions on local art. Also a wide range of merchandise from books to tablecloths to wine coolers. Come in and browse.

Again we are closed due to family issues but hopefully will be open again a few weeks before Christmas. Apologies to everyone who may have wanted our services at this time.

I have been “whittling a bit of time away” but now back in Katherine and shop open 09.00 to 13.00 Monday through Friday and 09.00 to noon Saturday. I have to go again towards the end of November and not sure how long for. So come in and look at what we have on offer. Most aboriginal art now 50% off for starters 😃

Apologies to those that have wanted framing done recently but I have been unable to open the shop regularly due to family issues. I am hoping things will be better soon and for the meantime I will try to open when I can.

For many reasons, Contemplations will close at the end of December 2025. The business is for sale but has been on the market for well over a year and no serious interested buyer. So if you have stuff that needs framing, bring it in soon or you will have to take it to Darwin. Keep an eye on this page for special offers.

This week the amazing Tricia is back from Melbourne. For me, this is fantastic, for our customers though, it means that I will only be opening the shop from 09.00 to 12.00 to spend a bit of time with my daughter. I apologise for any inconvenience to customers but next week we will be open the usual hours of 09.00 to 14.00 Mon to Friday and 09.00 to 12.00 on Saturday.
Remember, Contempations is the place to find great local art and craft at reasonable prices that cannot be found elsewhere 😀
