On Saturday night at Noonamah, our bull fighter Jake Hicks also had his last night in the arena!

We have been using Hicksy as our bull fighter at both Noonamah & Katherine Show Rodeo for the past 6 years.

He knows all our bulls well and knows exactly how to adapt to handle each one. He always puts in 110% to keep the competitors safe and communicates well with fellow bull fighters Beau & Mac. He not only gets in there to help out injured competitors but he is also the first to go congratulate them after a ripper ride too.
Hicksy positive & humbling energy is infectious in the arena and we are going to bloody miss him.

On Saturday night at the Noonamah Tavern Rodeo we got our judge Bill Sullivan out into the arena to recognise his enormous contribution to the cattle, horse and rodeo community across the Northern Territory and the Kimberley for more than fifty years.

Bill Sullivan came to the Territory in 1967 and spent his early years working on and managing cattle stations.

During those years, Bill competed at rodeos throughout Northern Australia and later became involved in judging and supporting events like the Berrimah Pub Rodeo in the 1990s.

Bill, along with his wife Annette were instrumental in establishing and producing the Back to the Bush – Pearl of the North rodeo and camp draft.

They also produced Darwin’s first CBR event at Robbie Robbins which later ran under the PBR!

Bill has always been a huge supporter of the Noonamah Tavern Rodeos and has been judging here since it began in 2011.

On behalf of TDM & the whole Noonamah team we thank you for a lifetime of service and contribution to rodeo in the Northern Territory.
