The Mulataga Project on Ngarluma Country is taking shape in Karratha, creating a vibrant new community with around 130 residential lots, a local park, shared pathways and open spaces designed for connection and wellbeing. This week, a meaningful Smoking Ceremony led by Ngarluma Elder Kerry Churnside marked the commencement of the project, honouring Country, culture and community as this important development begins. Together with the Ngarluma people, we're building a sustainable future that respects the past while creating new opportunities for generations to come. Ngarluma have been actively involved in the Mulutaga project, including for heritage survey work and place-naming (inducing streets)
