I'm running an artists book retreat day- a day to play & explore using mixed media, collage & paint. No experience needed, but more than welcome if you do! The focus is on exploring a theme- a favourite line of poetry, a phrase, a passage, a story, a feeling, an experience.... come with an idea but we'll find you one of you don't.

Want to be more creative?
Want to develop your creative wellbeing?

I'm running a course & a class version about how to do just that.

Vouce over

Have you heard that voiceover by John Cleese where he says, 'nothing will stop you being creative so effectively as the fear of making a mistake. Creativity is not a talent, it is a way of operating.' Such a good voiceover and he's so right.
Creativity, it's not about artistic talent.
You don't need to be an artist to be creative.
We benefit from creativity in every part of our life.
We also benefit from creativity for our well-being.
I'm going to be running a course over four Thursday nights and a Sunday class where we'll be looking at how we can develop our creative well-being.
This is not a one size fits all tool this is a way to work out what might work best for you.
If you think that this sounds like something you miaht be interested in check out the website and I'd love to see you.

We have a little drawing corner, so kids can come in and be inspired by the art and do their own little pieces. We do also have a little treasure hunt for kids who can read all kids who are helped by their loved ones- to see what they can find in the art that they see here.

Swinging by and have a little look if you want to get your kids up and drawing (we do also have adult opportunities for drawing!

Sometimes I get to have those conversations with people that are amazing. If I could, I would set up a booth to just have these conversations all day.

Somehow we have to keep our creative spark.

Currently in our Salon Space is a mini exhibition by Karly (Me!).

This is a collection of pieces that I've made over the past fifteen years, some of them from fifteen years ago, and some of them much, much newer. But they're all connected by the way that I create art and why I create art. This exhibition will be up for a few more weeks and will be open tomorrow. If you'd like to have a look. I'll also be sharing a little bit more about the process and what some of them mean in the next few weeks, along with sharing some new art classes coming up.

Shapes & Feelings
A Mini Exhibition

Do you know what you are feeling right now?

These peices have come out of the experience of chronic ill health, pain and significant life changes: experiences that can be difficult to express in words.

I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia for a bit over 20 yrs now. How it effects me changes all the time. Right now it's the best it's been, but it hasn't always been like this. There have been years at a time when I've lost my ability to do anything & to communitcate effectively - except through art. Throughout the years, I've engaged with art and creativity to help my pain, to meditate, to find a sense of flow, to help my mental health, to express myself and to just have something to do. The reason I engage with some many mediums is because each one offers something different to the way that I feel when I'm creating them. This creatively adaptability has been my saving grace. I'll be sharing about this a bit more over the next few weeks & you can come into the gallery to see the'full' 'mini' exhibition at the gallery whenever we're open
