(Insert cheerful greeting here) to you!
It's a (insert adjective decribing the weather) day here at Trivia Tribe HQ, and we're excited to bring you another week of trivia!
Speaking of, here are this week's trivia questions to get you started (insert joke suggesting they will win if they research these answers when in reality they probably won't. Only one team generally does, after all).
1. Which character has been played on the big screen by both Harrison Ford and Alden Ehrenreich?
2. Yes or no: Do flies sleep?
3. In The Lion King and regarding the duo Pumbaa and Timon, is Pumbaa the meerkat or warthog?

(Insert something cheerful and optomistic here and finish with your usual sign off)

See you at triv!

P.S. (Insert yet another plug for your podcast 21 Questions).

A quick note to my Thursday night peeps at Cleveland Bayside Club. There's big things coming at the club, and the changes are starting! There's a day coming where our capacity will increase to over 200, but sadly, today (and more specifically tomorrow) is not that day. In fact we are over-subscribed for this week's show - 188 booked for 160 seats. So if you are booked for tomorrow night you will be receiving a text or a call this morning to firm up your numbers. Please take the call/answer the text/send a raven.
I love our Thursday nights together and am looking forward to seeing most of you tomrrow night*!

Also, if you can't make it to the live show may I recommend a little trivia podcast called 21 Questions? It's both a hoot, and a hollar.

See you at triv!
Mike

Ah! Tis Monday, June 1! First day of a new week, month, and season, all rolled into one! That doesn't happen all that often and surely is a sign of something huge - perhaps that your team will climb to the dizzy height of the top of the trivia leaderboard? Find out this week at trivia and just on that, here are three of the questions that you'll be asked to mull over...

1. With over 33 million copies sold globally, which 1977 novel by Colleen McCullough's is the highest-selling Australian book of all time?
2. Which actor provides the voice of superman in The Lego Batman Movie?
3. Which famous British rocker caused a scandal in 2007 when he claimed in an interview that he snorted his late father’s ashes?

Happy Monday to you!
It's State Of Origin week and whilst I realise that might mean absolutely nothing to you, I would still have you know the following if you play on Wednesday nights: For each SOO game night, Andrew's show at Victoria Point Sharks will start a bit earlier - at 6.30. For players at North's Kallangur with me, we'll be starting at 6.10. Please arrive by 6pm if you can. Having said that, if you can't get there until 6.15 or whatever just show up when you can and I'll catch you up! Nothing much else to add except QUEENSLANDER! And yes, I am expecting people to comment supporting NSW and that's completely cool - without an opposition and some friendly rivalry what's the point? Great series last year though, amiright?

Anywho, here are this week's Qs:
1. Frank "Rocky" Fiegel is said to be the inspiration for which character who was first seen in 1929?
2. In ancient history, which civilisation began in the 8th century BC and saw its Western empire collapse in 476 AD?
3. In The Simpsons, what’s Marge Simpson’s full first name?

Here are this week's Qs:
1. As at early 2026, are there more or fewer than 50,000 operational poker machines in Qld?
2. Which former Beatle wrote the 1976 hit Silly Love Songs?
3. Which is the only planet in our solar system where a single day is longer than its entire year?

Happy public holiday to those who celebrate!
Just a reminder that there will be no show this Wednesday night at Norths Leagues Club Kallangur. We'll be back next week! Players from that gig are welcome to join me at Sports Central Caboolture on Tuesday night at 7, or with Andrew at Central Tavern Burpengary on Thursday night (also from 7!). All other shows are running as normal!
Here are this week's questions:
1. How old did the actor Drew Barrymore turn on February 22 this year?
2. Which musical (first performed in 1996) features a song about an Akita dog named Evita?
3. Despite its name, the Canadian river flows entirely through which country?

See you at triv!
Mike

P.S. Ep 43 of 21 Questions drops tomorrow. Thank you to everyone that has let me know they are enjoying the show! If you'd like to listen but don't know how ask me (or Andrew) at a gig and we''ll show you how easy it is!

OMG! The temp has dropped below 20 degrees! I've had to bust out my winter woolies and I'm struggling to type this because I'm wearing mittens!
Still, we must press on!
Trivia is on this week at all our regular venues - for players at Norths Kallangur we will not be there next week (Weds 6th of May), but, I say again, this week we are good to go!
Here are the head start questions for the week:
1. Which ‘S’ is a general term of respect in Japanese culture and is specifically an instructor in Karate and Judo?
2. Which European country is the original home of tempura cooking?
3. In George Orwell’s Animal Farm which group of animals form a dictatorship after overthrowing the farmer?
