🏁 OUR GOLDFIELDS RACERS GETTING IT DONE! 🏁

We love seeing our local competitors hit the road and represent Kalgoorlie Speedway around WA — and there were some fantastic results at Ellenbrook Speedway yesterday!

🏆 MASON WHITEHEAD – W82

What a run Mason is on!

Mason took out the Tom Green Memorial Gold Cup for Junior Sedan Top Stars, holding off a quality field to claim another feature victory.

But the really impressive part… this now makes it FOUR FEATURE WINS IN A ROW! 🔥🔥🔥

Four starts. Four feature wins. Mason is certainly making his mark in the Top Star ranks and showing some incredible consistency wherever he goes.

👏 ELLA WHITEHEAD – W28

Ella continues to impress in the Junior Sedan New Star ranks, coming home 4th in the New Star Gold Cup at Ellenbrook.

It’s another strong result in what has already been a remarkably consistent season for Ella — with nine feature starts during the 2025/26 season and nine Top 5 finishes!

She continues to get quicker and more competitive every time she hits the track, and is putting together a fantastic run of results in the New Star ranks. 👏

🏆 JACK BARNEWALL – #16

Jack continues to make some serious progress in the Late Model!

He took out yesterday’s Late Model Development Series Feature, making it his SECOND Development Series feature victory of the season!

The Development Series is all about giving drivers the opportunity to build experience and develop their skills in these cars, and Jack is certainly making the most of it.

Two feature wins already and continuing to get quicker every time he hits the track — we can’t wait to see where he goes from here! 🔥

🏁 **Life Member Induction – Dean Shore** 🏁

Tonight was a very special night for the Boulder Speedway Association and Kalgoorlie International Speedway, as we proudly inducted our newest Life Member:

**Mr Dean Shore**

Life Membership is the highest honour our club can present. It is not simply about the number of years someone has been involved, or how many seasons they have been around the place. It is about dedication, commitment, loyalty, hard work, and the lasting impact someone leaves on the club.

Dean is one of those people whose name has become part of the fabric of Kalgoorlie Speedway.

His involvement with the club goes back to the mid-1990s, where he started racing and very quickly became well known around the track — sometimes for his racing, sometimes for hitting the wall, the fence, and on the odd occasion giving the ambulance crew something to keep an eye on. 😂

Over the years Dean has competed in a number of divisions and has always given everything 100%. Whether it was racing, working on the car late into the night, trying to make it to the track on time, or giving everyone a story to tell afterwards, Dean has always been all-in.

But Dean’s contribution goes much further than what he has done behind the wheel.

Across many years, Dean has worn just about every hat possible within the club. He has served as President, Vice President, Machine Examiner, Track Inspector, Race Director, fire crew, helped with push cars, worked around the pits and dummy grid, maintained equipment, helped around the grounds, and taken on countless jobs that many people never see.

He has been there through the long nights, the working bees, the wet tracks, the dry tracks, the breakdowns, the pressure, the phone calls, the meetings, the problem solving, and the moments where the club simply needed someone to step up.

Dean has done that time and time again.

He has helped build, shape and carry this club forward. His passion for Kalgoorlie International Speedway is obvious to anyone who has spent time around him. Whether things are going well, or whether everything seems to be falling apart around us, Dean has always had the best interests of the club at heart.

He has been a steady hand, a strong voice, a worker, a competitor, a leader, and a true club person.

Life Membership is reserved for people who have made a lasting difference, and Dean has certainly done that. His contribution has helped make Kalgoorlie International Speedway what it is today, and his legacy will continue to be felt for many years to come.

On behalf of the Boulder Speedway Association, our members past and present, competitors, volunteers, officials, sponsors and supporters — thank you Dean for your outstanding service to our great club.

🏁 **Legends Board Inductees – Jeff Woolhouse & Bob Wakefield** 🏁

This year, we are proud to add two very deserving names to our Kalgoorlie International Speedway **Legends Board**:

Both Jeff and Bob are already Life Members of the club, and their contribution to Kalgoorlie Speedway goes far beyond race nights.

These two have helped build, shape and support the track and club into what it is today. Their time, knowledge, hard work and commitment over many years has played a huge part in the history and future of our Speedway.

Even now, both continue to help out around the track whenever they can — a true example of what club spirit is all about.

🏆 **Fairest & Best – Mat Robbins** 🏁

The **Fairest & Best Award** is one of the highest honours of the night, recognising not only performance on the track, but attitude, sportsmanship, respect and the way a driver represents the club.

This season, the award goes to our very own Late Model driver, **Mat Robbins**.

Mat has been a fantastic representative of Kalgoorlie International Speedway throughout the season, showing great commitment, clean racing, consistency and a positive attitude both on and off the track.

The Fairest & Best is not just about results — it is about the way you race, the way you carry yourself, and the example you set for others.

🏁 **Most Improved Driver – Ricky Ladiszlai** 🏁

The **Most Improved Driver of the Season** award goes to **Ricky Ladiszlai**.

Throughout the 2025/26 season, Ricky continued to build confidence, improve his race craft, and show real growth every time he hit the track.

It has been great to watch his progress across the season, with stronger performances, cleaner racing, and a noticeable step forward in consistency and pace.

Awards like this are about recognising effort, commitment and improvement — and Ricky has certainly earned that recognition this season.

🌀 **Spinners Award – Shaun Cubbage** 🏁

One of the most famous fun awards of them all goes to a man who seems to make it his own year after year…

The **Spinners Award** goes to **Shaun Cubbage** for all the little spinny spins he manages to pull off on the track! 😂

Whether it’s a quick loop, a cheeky turn around, or just keeping everyone on their toes, Shaun always seems to find a way to add a bit of extra excitement to race night.

It wouldn’t be the fun awards without this one — and it wouldn’t feel right if Shaun wasn’t right in the mix for it!

🏊 **Swimmers Award – Pat Elliott** 💦🏁

For the last few seasons, **Pat Elliott** has been one of the legends helping keep our track watered and race-ready.

Not only has Pat put in the time helping with track prep, he has also been a valued sponsor and supporter of Kalgoorlie International Speedway through **Elliott Water Haulage**.

But… at the **Red Dirt Rumble**, Pat may have been just a little too committed to the job. 😂

A bit too much water hit the track, things got a little wetter than planned, and for a moment we nearly needed floaties instead of race boots!

All in good fun, and with plenty of appreciation behind it — this year’s **Swimmers Award** goes to **Pat Elliott**.

Thanks Pat for everything you do for the club. 🏁💦

🏁 **About F’n Time Award – Jack Barnewall** 🏁

This one goes to **Jack Barnewall**!

After a couple of years away from racing and plenty of talk about wanting to get into a Late Model, Jack finally stopped talking about it and made it happen.

It might have taken a while… but he got there in the end! 😂

Great to see Jack back behind the wheel and out there in a Late Model this season.
