Proud is an understatement 💙💙🖤🖤💙💙. These kids blow me away every single time. Just when I think we have bitten off more than we can chew, they pull it off and more! Not only did they support each other, cheer on their peers and make more friends with students from all studios. They all had fun on the stage, they applied their corrections, and I can confidently say they all danced their personal bests!

I’m not sure I’m mentally prepared for more comps in the next few weeks but I know no matter what they will tackle every performance and enjoy their time on the stage.

A special congratulations to our two champion dancers, Jordan and Olivia, who's love for dance and performing only grows stronger. I'm so proud of you both.

A special mention to my 8 and under Jazz troupe! You guys are all superstars and your dedication and work ethic was evident this term. I don't think we have had a troupe of dancers who have been so dedicated and stuck to their commitments all term like have you girls have! It was a short term-to start with, and a difficult routine to master but you all worked so hard and I couldn't be prouder!

A huge thankyou to Miss Jasmine who came to suppotour dancers in all of their routines! It’s so special to have a supportive network of teachers who genuinely love our studio and our dancers!

Well done to our first time competition mums! We understand how daunting it can be, but everyone chipped in with costumes, tights, extra rehearsals, hair, makeup and emotional support!! And for being all too happy to " jump in" in messy moments 😉. You were all superstars and the real hero's of week!

And last but not least, a massive congratulations to miss Isla for not only surviving her first competition season as studio director, but for organising such a lovely competition showcase for our lucky students. Your love and support for each and every dancer was felt by all. How lucky our students are to have you! You deserve much more than two days off before term 2 begins so hopefully the start of term is kind to you!!!

Big changes, steady hearts 🤍

A message from Miss Danielle…

After 13 incredible years of building BSDC into the community it is today, I’m stepping slightly to the side to support and mentor Isla as she becomes our next Studio Director.

Due to unforeseen circumstances and my physical health, I can no longer meet the full demands of studio ownership alone, but I’m not leaving. I’ll be working closely with Isla over the next two years as her mentor while she completes her Royal Academy registration and gains further experience in studio management and ownership.

This decision is about protecting BSDC, honouring its values, and ensuring its magic lives on. Isla is loyal, committed, and deeply deserving, and BSDC is in very safe hands.I’ll still be here teaching, choreographing, and supporting our dance family as much as I can 🤍This isn’t goodbye, it’s growth.

BSDC - A Few Questions You May Have 🤍We know change can spark questions, so we wanted to share some clarity and reassurance with our BSDC family.

💙Is Danielle leaving BSDC?
No. Danielle is not leaving, walking away, or turning her back on the studio or its community. She will continue teaching, choreographing, mentoring, and supporting BSDC as much as her health allows.

💙Why is this change happening now?
Due to unforeseen circumstances and the impact on Danielle’s physical health, the full demands of studio ownership are no longer sustainable alone. This decision was made thoughtfully and proactively to protect the long-term wellbeing of both Danielle and the studio.

💙Who is running BSDC now?Isla is stepping into the role of Studio Director. She has shown consistent loyalty, willingness, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to BSDC and its students.

💙Is Danielle still involved behind the scenes?Yes. Danielle will be working closely with Isla over the next two years as her mentor while Isla completes her registered teaching status with the Royal Academy and continues developing her skills in studio management and ownership.

💙Will BSDC’s values or culture change?
No. Preserving BSDC’s core values, principles, and sense of community has been central to this transition. The heart, magic, and standards of BSDC remain unchanged.

💙Is this a permanent goodbye or a temporary step back?This is not a “leave and forget” decision. It is a conscious choice to protect, nurture, and allow BSDC to flourish into the future with strong leadership and support.

💙What does this mean for students and families?Continuity, care, and commitment. Classes, culture, and community remain a priority, ad students will continue to be supported with the same love and dedication BSDC has always been known for.

Thank you for trusting the process, supporting our studio, and being part of the BSDC family. This next chapter is being written with intention, respect, and a whole lot of heart 🤍

Unfortunately we will not be having our parent open day today as planned as Miss Kylie is still recovering from surgery on her eyes this week. We will plan one next term when their regular teachers are there and can show you all the best moves!
