Well,it was a very fresh start to walking hockey yesterday, but that didn’t stop our devotees! Three teams played a round robin and all warmed up very quickly. Some terrific passing resulted in goals for Mel and Beckie. The usual sibling rivalry was alive and well, across all matches.
It’s on again next Sunday 9am,come along for some fun!

The countdown is on! There are now just 3 months to go until the Mildura Walking Hockey Festival returns for its second year.

That's only 12 weeks away!

We're looking forward to welcoming players from across the region and beyond for a fantastic weekend of hockey, friendship, fun and connection.

Do you love hockey? Or are you looking to try something new that’s fun, social, and inclusive? The Sunraysia Walking Hockey Festival is coming back to Mildura this October — and everyone is invited to join in the action!

Walking Hockey is a non-contact, slower-paced version of traditional hockey that’s taking off across Australia. It’s ideal for adults, kids, beginners, and anyone wanting a low-impact way to enjoy the game. With all the strategy, teamwork, and community spirit of hockey—just at a walking pace—it’s the perfect blend of fun, fitness, and friendship.

“Walking Hockey is about bringing people together,” say the event organisers. “It’s a chance to connect with like-minded legends, stay active, and enjoy the great game in an inclusive and welcoming environment.”
For people new to the sport, there will be the opportunity to attend a 30 minute introductory session prior to playing.
Whether you're a seasoned hockey player or completely new to the sport, this is your chance to give it a go! It will be a lot of fun, and the more the better!

Event Details
Date: Saturday 17 – Sunday 18 October 2026
Times: Saturday 1–5pm | Sunday 9am–12pm
Location: Sunraysia Hockey Pitch, Aerodrome Ovals (off Eleventh Street)
Cost: $5 per person
No running. No contact. Just good vibes on the pitch.
Open to all ages and abilities
