Check this out for something different.
How I came about working with Uniquely You Personal Stylist !!!
While you legends will see a lot of drag racing content on the Dtrain Photography page, it generally doesn't pay the bills & for the most part I am out photographing drag race events because I love it & I'm passionate about it, not because I'm trying to get rich. (New Flash: BEING A PHOTOGRAPHER WON'T MAKE YOU RICH)
Sure there is a couple of organisations that do make a lot of money from drag racing photos, however as a result on how these organisations operate it leaves not a lot of potential income for others.
It's not all doom & gloom however as these facts have just meant we've had to think outside the box & build on different skill sets to help broaden our potential client base in other industries highlighting that Dtrain Photography is not just another two dimensional 'Automotive Photography Company' that can only shoot drag racing & automotive content.
It's no secret that Dtrain Photography can shoot portraits, we often post photos from our wedding clients. What we don't share a lot of however which we intend to change in the future is the portrait work we do with other organisations outside the automotive industry. Unfortunately the aggressive nature of the algorithm on social media platforms for a photographer who started out doing feature shoots & covers for magazine publications in automotive & motorcycle mags, doesn't favour us posting our portrait work as most of our following is predominantly automotive based.
However we are here for it & we're going to give this a shot, who knows ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ some of you legends might just be into fashion styling.
In the lead up to Cooly Rocks On Festival 2026 a lovely lady by the name of Larissa who is behind Uniquely You Personal Stylist reached out & offered the opportunity to work along side her team in building some really cool concepts. The content we captured as a team at coolies was refreshing & the shoot resulted in great photos that have since been published internationally in magazines over seas.
Completely trusting the process, Larissa built the concepts then trusted me with capturing the styling leaning on my wedding photography skills to get the exposures right & capture the mood & energy to match the look.
Remembering I am Not a pinup or fashion photographer, I'm a self taught street photographer who learnt to photograph weddings as I love capturing special moments in time just as much I love motorcycles, cars & pick up trucks. My daily attire consists of a black T-shirt, black Dickies shorts & a black set of Etnies MTB shoes, so there is absolutely no way I could achieve these results without out someone like Larissa steering this machine in the right direction. So thank you to Larissa for trusting me with the task & having me work with her team.
From designing the scenes from ground up to utilising her extensive networking skills & contacts to get the work published internationally.
