I am an Anathanguyth/Yinwum man with traditional lands on the Western and Central Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland. I was born in Cairns and moved to Brisbane in my early teens then spent my teen years living in Ipswich. I started painting on anything that would hold the paint, including canvases, old bits of wood, furniture and my bedroom walls. With years of practicing, I taught myself how to paint. I always felt my paintings kind of evolved as I was working on them. I spoke with a family member about this and was told that I was feeling this way because the spirits of my ancestors were talking to me and channelling themselves through my artwork. This gave me a huge confidence boost and now when I paint, I take the time to relax and let images and ideas come to me. I have been involved in a few joint exhibitions around the Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich areas. I hope to continue learning more of my dreaming (traditional stories) and be able to represent these stories though my art. Thank you for visiting my page and look forward to sharing my journey with you all.
