~ ABOUT ~
String Valley, also known as The Imbil Acoustic Music Festival. The Acoustic Music Weekend began in 1993 when a group of friends came together to share their love of traditional acoustic styles—ranging from Old-Time and Bluegrass to Celtic, Western Swing, Gypsy Jazz, and beyond. In its early days, the gathering was primarily a jamming weekend. Over time, the weekend grew to include a Saturday night concert and workshops led by the very musicians who had music to share. We wish to continue this vision and format. Weekends with the emphasis on sessions and musicianship development rather than just entertainment for spectators.

~ TICKETS ~
Tickets are $30 which includes access to the Workshops and Concert. Please bring cash and pay when checking in at the Deer Park. Festival tickets do not include camping. Book and pay for your camping with The Borumba Deer Park. Give them a call on ☎️ 07 5484 5196 and let them know you're coming to the String Valley Festival!

~ DAY PASS ~
There is a fee of $18 per person to enter The Deer Park if you are not camping. This will allow you to stay until 10pm.

~ SUNDAY CHECK OUT ~
12pm - The Deer Park have kindly let us check out later than usual, woo hoo!

Workshops!!!!!

10am – Old Time Fiddle — Lee Wilson
Join Lee for a look at old-time bowing techniques, with a focus on the classic tune Sarah Armstrong’s Reel. Bring your fiddle or mandolin and come have a play!

11am – Western Swing / Hillbilly — Mitch Mupp Humphrys
Dive into the sounds and styles of Western Swing and Hillbilly music with Mitch. Explore the tunes, techniques and feel that make these styles so much fun to play.

12pm – Songwriting — Ayden Roberts
Ready to craft your next hit? Ayden will explore songwriting techniques, ideas and approaches to help you turn that half-finished song into something worth singing.

2pm – Bluegrass — David Hellens
Ask Dave about Banjos and Bluegrass! Explore the basics of bluegrass playing and jamming, learn how a bluegrass jam works, and hear Dave put it all into action. Join in and have a pick on your favourite Bluegrass tunes and songs.

3pm – Old Time Jam — Mary & Padraic
Head up to the Sports Ground and join Mary and Padraic for a wholesome old-time jam. Bring your instrument and come serenade the deer with some crooked old-time tunes!

This man lives steeped in the traditions that we are all here for and his unique flavour of Hillbilly Bop is super refreshing and no doubt he'll have your hearts yodeling his tunes by the end of his set.

If thats not enough to getchya there... hes a brilliant man, always up for a jam and hes bringing his fam.

Mitch Mupp Humphrys - Caught him today playing upright bass at the old time jam, in a Bob wills and the Texas playboys shirt and we first met at one of the early 'Monday manouche' jams at Toowoomba. Such a broad range of musical influences and flavours. looking forward to the set.
