🏁WHAT A DAY AT ILLABO MOTORSPORT PARK!🏁

Saturday 8th August 2026, will go down as one of the biggest and most successful days in the history of Gasworks Motorsport Inc.

We presented a full program of Vintage Speedway, Karts & Mowers, and the response from both competitors and spectators was simply outstanding.

🏆 77 COMPETITORS - A NEW RECORD!
That is the largest competitor entry ever recorded for one of our meetings.

And if the competitors exceeded our expectations, so did the crowd!
The spectator attendance was well beyond anything we had anticipated, with the Illabo Motorsport Park precinct buzzing throughout the day. It was fantastic to see so many families, motorsport enthusiasts and supporters enjoying the action and atmosphere.

From the Vintage Speedway cars returning to the dirt, to the Karts and Mowers putting on their own brand of entertainment, there was plenty happening on the track from start to finish.

A huge THANK YOU to:

👏All 77 Competitors who travelled to Illabo and supported our meeting.

👏The many spectators who came through the gates and made the day so special.

👏Our dedicated Gasworks Motorsport volunteers and officials, whose countless hours behind the scenes make these events possible.

👏Our sponsors, supporters and local businesses who continue to get behind Illabo Motorsport Park.

👏And of course, everyone who helped prepare the track, facilities and the grounds leading up to the event.

Saturdays event proved once again that there is a real appetite for grassroots, historic and family friendly motorsport in the Riverina.

Gasworks Motorsport Inc is looking for Volunteer Photographers (16+) to help capture all the action at Vintage Speedway and Speedway Karts this Saturday, 8 August 2026, at Illabo Motorsport Park.

Whether you're an experienced photographer or just keen to learn, we'll provide a safety briefing, lunch, and even camera equipment if you need it. Bring your creativity and help showcase grassroots motorsport from your own unique perspective.

🎬 Volunteer Video Editor(s) Needed!🎬
Help Tell the Story of Motorsport at Illabo Motorsport Park

Gasworks Motorsport Inc is looking for volunteer video editors to help transform exciting motorsport footage into engaging promotional videos.

Our photographers and videographers have captured hours of incredible footage from events at Illabo Motorsport Park, and we're looking for creative people who can bring it to life.

First Project – Khanacross Promotion
We've captured footage from inside and outside the Khanacross vehicles, and we'd love your help creating:
🎥 A full-length highlights movie
• Edit the best footage into an exciting video for our YouTube channel.
⚡ 30-second promotional videos
• Create one or more short, high-impact promotional clips to encourage people to try Khanacross.

The primary audience is high school students, while still appealing to a broad audience.

We'll provide logos, branding and any additional resources you need.

Our Gasworks Motorsport Inc members were recently invited to participate in volunteer activities at the AASA - Australian Auto-Sport Alliance event at Sydney Motorsport Park (Formerly Eastern Creek).

3 of our members took the opportunity, and submitted an expression of interest as flag marshall's for the Hi-Tec Oils Super Car Series (round 3), which took place on 17 & 18 July.

Rod, Brodie and Steven were fortunate to have their expression of interest accepted, and volunteered over the weekend, giving their time and expertise to assist in the safe and smooth running of the event.

Rod has reported that on the first day, they were located at Pos 1, and on day 2, they were asked to attend to pos 2, the hairpin.

Due to the attention required in undertaking duties at Pos 2, being at the hairpin, Rod was required to stay focused on the task at hand, and while he was able to watch the track in all its glory in a prime location, he was unfortunately unable to take his attention off the task at hand to obtain photographs.

All in all, a great time was had, and Rod has reported that he has nominated as a volunteer for the Hi-Tec Oils Super Car Series "Fight in the Night" (round 4) in Willowbank Queensland next month.
