Congrats to Jim Griffin on his recent release mastered here at Phoenix Sound Studios.

"I’m delighted to announce the upcoming release of my new mini album.
“The Crofter’s Journey (A Tale of the Highland Clearances)”, is a musical story about my 3x Great Grandparents who left the island of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland in 1852 as part of the Highland Clearances.

They, with their four small children, embarked on the ill-fated voyage of the H.M.S. Hercules, along with 752 other Highlanders, looking for a new life across the world in Australia.

Told in 6-parts, this piece was composed, performed, programmed and produced by me. I extend my sincere thanks to Justin Humphries at Phoenix Sound Studios in Hurstbridge for his guidance and advice during its development, along with the wonderful mastering job.

Had a great time recording and playing drums on No Such Thing As Allow Me by Romero Lubambo & Weber Drummond from their album Two.

Such a deep pocket on this one — subtle dynamics, letting the groove sit back and breathe, just supporting the feel of the tune.

Recorded at Phoenix Sound Studios — always thankful for a room that inspires creativity.
