Lively, fun Klezmer and French dances

Dancers and listeners alike are in for a treat as Klezmer and experimental fiddler Rachel Meyers, accordionist Dave McNamara, border piper and wooden flute player Tom Walwyn and Slovenian hillbilly Fred Pribac on bass, take to the stage to celebrate the inspiring, emotional and exciting music of the Klezmer and Balfolk traditions.

Klezmer & pan-European music from a powerhouse quartet: With their energetic and joyfully unrestrained music, Rachel Meyers and Dave McNamara have delighted audiences from some of Europe's liveliest bars and music festivals to the wettest, coldest and darkest street corners.
Tom Walwyn plays wooden flutes and border pipes with warmth and sensitivity and specialises in Balfolk music.
Slovenian hillbilly Fred Pribac underpins it all on bass.

Caller David Wanless will lead dancers through dances from these two vibrant worlds of European dancing.

Klezmer dances are fun and simple, social, East European Jewish dances.

BalFolk dancing is popular social dancing from Western Europe, a recent revival of traditional, mostly French, folk dances. Thousands of people of all ages attend festivals such as Boombal (BE) and the Gennetines Grand bal de l'Europe (FR). There are vibrant folk dance scenes in towns and cities across Northern Europe, France, Belgium and Italy, and growing dance scenes in England and North America.

If you're not smiling, you're not dancing!
