Join us at Kunanyi Folk Club as the freshest of contemporary folk music meets the many-stringed folk maestro:

Rupert Ballard and Louis Gill

Rupert Bullard is an emerging, award-winning, independent folk musician from Lutruwrita/Tasmania. At just 19 Rupert has been awarded 'Emerging Artist of the Year'(Port Fairy FF), 'Outstanding Young Performer'(NFF) and 'Youth Artist of the Year' (Folk Alliance Australia).
His resume of support act tours both international and Australian (including Josh Pyke and Ash Grunwald) is impressive and he has received plaudits from a number of music-based publications.

Louis Gill is a bassist (of both types) and singer, known for collaborating with many of the most well-known and well-loved Tasmanian artists. From Claire Anne Taylor and Teresa Dixon to Pete Cornelius Louis can easily be found supporting Tassie artists statewide, interstate and internationally. Most recently Louis has worked with Rupert on his upcoming album.

Vardos are the feature act at Kunanyi Folk Club On Saturday 6th June. Yes, it is the holiday weekend but it's also the first Saturday of winter and the high-energy music of Vardos will put a fire in your belly and make you want to move your body! No better way to beat the chilly fingers of Winter!
