Mainstage Theatre Company MAINSTAGE THEATRE COMPANY was a Hobart production co-op. We staged new works, ensemble musicals and plays in Hobart. The company is no longer operating.

MAINSTAGE THEATRE COMPANY was established in 1986 out of the ashes of Polygon Theatre Company and the Theatre Co-Operative Tasmania in a period when Federal and Tasmanian funding bodies took money out of the 'state company' and deliberated the future of performing arts in the state. MAINSTAGE continued their parent companies' legacy of producing a programme of professional quality theatre, despite

the loss of funding, through a production co-op. Over the last thirty or so years we presented over thirty productions often collaborating with other organisations to realise unique and original concepts of entertainment. Mainstage Theatre Company no longer exists.
