12 Years of Kombi Krew 🎧💛🚐
It’s our birthday… so here’s a slightly long post.
Not exactly a milestone, but another year of new connections, new opportunities and getting to revisit so many of the beautiful people and communities who have become part of our story.
We’re not great at socials, terrible at reels and still don’t have TikTok (although we’re absolutely open to someone taking that job off our hands 😅). But somehow, we’re still busy, still growing and word of mouth is still alive and kicking! 🙌🏻
We’re incredibly proud that all those years ago we took the leap to bring silent discos to Tassie, all because we needed to generate funds to buy our Kombis! What started with buying Kombis, fixing Kombis, fixing them again 🤑, building a brand and reinvesting everything we had (financially and emotionally 😅) has grown into something we genuinely love. Our business baby!
From school discos and kids’ parties to weddings, festivals, corporate events, NBL games, community celebrations and EVERYTHING in between — we show up with the same energy and same commitment, excited to be part of something fun and memorable.
It’s never really been about the money, in fact we never even took wages for the first 5 years!
It’s been about growth, joy, connection, inclusion, music, movement, colour, community and good old-fashioned fun.
But 12 years in, we’re also learning that time is precious, our time is valuable. It flies, things change, people come and go, and we’re incredibly grateful for every person who has been part of the journey and continue to celebrate us.
So, to our beautiful community, friends, family (that stuck around), clients, colleagues and fellow small businesses — thank you. For supporting us, recommending us, dancing with us and continuing to invite us along for the ride.
12 years. Still here. Still having fun. Still fixing Kombis. Still cleaning headsets within an inch of their life 😂
I'm not sure if we have another 12 in us, but we'll give it a crack.
Happy birthday to us! 🎧🥳💛
