This has been an incredibly hard piece of news to hear.
Bob has given us so many great things to be inspired by. His courage and tenacity were so admirable. He even inspired our family to become a Scouts family.
We got to know Bob from helping to get his story to air on the ABC as associate producer.

So glad that his story is captured forever. But it will break my heart to watch this now he is not here.
RIP and I am so so sad for his family and friends.
We are deeply saddened to share the news that Bob Bramley, who featured on Australian Story in 2021 for his record-breaking solo flight, has died, aged 24.
The Tasmanian teenager was just 16 when he took to the skies in an attempt to be the youngest person to circumnavigate Australia by aircraft. And he did it, raising awareness of youth mental health and su***de prevention along the way.
Fast-forward, and Bob was living out his dream as a pilot working for a charter company in the Northern Territory. On Tuesday morning his plane went down in the Gulf of Carpentaria. The accident was announced by his loved ones on the fundraiser page 'Surviving Turbulence'.
“There are no words, deeds or silver linings that make this any easier, but our beloved Bob is gone,” the post reads.
“We are shocked, we are heartbroken, but we remember the ideals that Bob championed.
“Bob was a courageous individual, who inspired those around him with his infectious enthusiasm. He was a dreamer, who never let fear, problems or pessimists stop him from reaching his goals. But most importantly, he was dedicated to helping people get through dark times and dream as big as he did.”
