🌸🪩 ABOUT MAMMA MIA! 🪩🌸

Set on a sun-soaked Greek island and told through the iconic music of ABBA, MAMMA MIA! is a joyful, funny and heartfelt story about love, family, friendship and finding your own way 🌊✨

On the eve of her wedding, Sophie Sheridan sets out to discover the identity of her father after finding her mother Donna’s old diary. She secretly invites three men from Donna’s past to the island and what follows is a whirlwind of old romances, lifelong friendships, secrets, laughter and plenty of surprises.

Featuring iconic hits including Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, Mamma Mia, Take a Chance on Me, Voulez-Vous and The Winner Takes It All, the show is packed with big characters, brilliant comedy, heartfelt moments and high-energy ensemble numbers.

And this year is a BIG one… For the first time EVER, the Old Nick Hobart Theatre Summer School is heading to the Theatre Royal 🎭✨

The opportunity to perform on the Theatre Royal stage is incredibly special, and we seriously cannot wait to see our 2027 Summer School cast up there bringing MAMMA MIA! to life! 🪩🌊

Our show season will run from Fri 22 Jan through until Sat 30 Jan, 2027 ✨

WE'RE BACK... AND WE COME BEARING NEWS 🎭✨

It's been a little while since we revealed that MAMMA MIA! would be our 2027 Hobart Theatre Summer School production.

Today, we're excited to announce two more pieces of the puzzle.

For the first time in Hobart Theatre Summer School history, we'll be performing at the iconic Theatre Royal.

And we're delighted to confirm that the team behind Anything Goes and Midnight: The Cinderella Musical will return to bring MAMMA MIA! to life:

HERE WE GO… 🌸

The Old Nick Company is absolutely thrilled to announce that the 2027 Hobart Theatre Summer School production will be… ✨ MAMMA MIA! ✨

It’s hard to believe the Summer School has been running since 2005 and somehow, while just about everyone else has tackled this iconic musical, we never have! Until now 💙

We cannot WAIT to bring a little Mamma Mia magic to the stage with some of Tasmania’s finest young performers – sunshine, sequins, ABBA hits and all.
