Although most of the information contained in this website is about swing dancing in Hobart, we would like to include details about swing and related forms of dancing from all of Tasmania. This site will be kept completely up to date with swing dance news and social events in Tasmania, so check

TasSwing run swing classes every Wednesday night at the Polish Hall, 20 New Town Road, New Town (enter via the blue door on Clare Street). See the Classes page for details! We also occasionally run other classes on Tuesdays and Sundays - check our website for details!

Formed for the sole purpose of playing for dancers Eleanor & The Swingouts feature all your favourite dance tunes played by some of Hobart’s finest musicians.

Happy World Lindy Hop day!! To celebrate we shared some of Frankie Manning's story and favourite moves (Frankie 6's, head pecking promenades, huppa-dahs), and danced to Shiny Stockings. Lots of big smiles and our own local OG dancer.

COME LEARN TO LINDY HOP WITH US!

Lindy Hop is probably the most well known of the “Swing dances” - an umbrella term for a number of amazing dances that developed with the swinging jazz music of the 1920-1950s+. It's a joyous, dynamic dance that encourages creative expression & connection, and a culture that celebrates community & inclusivity .

Tasswing holds beginner classes every Wednesday, 6:30pm @ The Polish Hall, New Town.
